Ground station setup: tweaking RF and control cables routing to achieve full 0-360° azimuth and 0-180° elevation of antenna coverage for aqusition as many data from the orbit over each pass as possible. If you've ever tried this, you know it's pretty tough. Happy tracking! 📡

I can confirm that Cosmos-2612 is tailing ICEYE-X36 like a cat after a mouse - though this cat ought to realize that an even larger predator is likely keeping an eye on it 👀

Intercepted military HF communication on 5135 kHz (USB). The best detail? At ~1:02, you can hear a staff telephone ringing in the background ☎️ This is proof of a "hot mic" – the order is being read live by an operator from a command center, not a speech synthesizer.

Icom IC-R8600 as the IQ stream source works perfectly with SpectraFlux (@rfspace) 👌 Easy to control receiver via MacOS. Here decoding ADSB frames. Nice duo! Thanks Pieter @ibelings 👋

It's a pleasure to listen to an HF radio station while working on your computer, using modern tools like LLM, the cloud, etc., something that was unthinkable when such stations were the only means of live and long-distance communication. Now with radio enclosed in a matchbox!

NISAR enters Science Phase 🇮🇳🇺🇸 NISAR (~2400kg) was launched on 30 July 2025, onboard GSLV to a 747km (circular) Sun synchronous Orbit 🚀 The unfolding of the 9m boom and the deployment of the 12m diameter antenna reflector, took 6 days (9 Aug 2025 to 15 Aug 2025). On 19 Aug 2025, for the first time the S-band SAR (ISRO) captured the fertile Godavari River Delta in Andhra Pradesh, Since then it has been regularly imaging the Indian Landmass and Global Calibration-Validation sites in various payload operating configurations. You know why ham radio feels like magic? You can reach someone 1000s of miles away, with just a piece of wire, a radio, and a battery. No infrastructure, no satellites, nothing. My record is making contact with someone 11,000 km (~7k miles) away in Colorado (SSB, 20m, 100W)
