I don’t trust the government with Flock cameras, let alone the death penalty. It wastes trillions, botches basic services, can’t pass audits, and gets wars wrong. Judges can be biased & evidence mishandled. Why give that incompetent system the irreversible power to kill?

Statement from members of the Libertarian National Committee re “Trump Dividend” September 10, 2026 Last night in Dallas, President Trump opened the Republican Party’s first midterm convention with a promise that every adult citizen would receive a $5,000 “Trump Dividend”—but only if Republicans keep both houses of Congress. That is not fiscal policy. It is vote-buying, announced on a national stage by a man whose record of broken economic promises is already long. The arithmetic is not mysterious. There are roughly 270 million adults in the United States. Five thousand dollars each is more than $1.3 trillion. The federal government already runs annual deficits approaching $2 trillion and carries a national debt of tens of trillions. The President offered no offsetting cuts, no credible revenue source, and no statutory path.  This is not a new habit. Americans were previously told they would receive $2,000 “tariff dividends.” They were told a “DOGE dividend” of $5,000 was coming. Those checks never arrived. The same pattern of grand announcement followed by silence or walk-back is already visible: within hours, the Vice President began qualifying who might actually receive the money. Libertarians know that prosperity does not come from politicians auctioning other people’s money in exchange for votes. It comes from leaving people free to keep what they earn, trade without political permission, and plan their lives without waiting for the next campaign promise. A $5,000 check funded by more borrowing or more taxes is not a dividend; it is a transfer that inflates the currency, crowds out private investment, and mortgages the future of all Americans. Voters are not shareholders in a corporation called “the United States of America, Trump Division.” They are individuals who already pay for the government’s failures. Offering them a fraction of their own confiscated wealth, conditional on handing one party continued power, is the oldest trick in democratic politics, dressed up as generosity. The Libertarian Party will continue to tell voters the unfashionable truth: no party that treats the Treasury as a campaign slush fund deserves another term of control. Real dividends come from lower taxes, fewer barriers, and a government small enough that it cannot buy elections with money it does not have. Signers (as of 9/10/26 4pm ET): Susan Hogarth, LNC Region 5 Representative Travis Bost, LNC Region 5 Alternate Olivia Hayse, LNC Region 7 Representative Keith Thompson, LNC At-large Representative Alex Flores, LNC Region 9 Representative Austin Martin, LNC Region 1 Representative Alfa Shaw, LNC Region 6 Representative Richard Longstreth, LNC At-large Representative Mimi Robson, LNC Region 5 Representative Sonja Feintech, LNC Region 1 Alternate Rose Leatherman, LNC Region 8 Alternate Michelle Wigington, LNC Region 7 Alternate Kelly Nguyen, LNC At-large Representative

Libertarianism is about removing arbitrary barriers between people who want to peacefully engage with one another. It is the political philosophy that respects the individual and fosters social cooperation; that recognizes both the value of tradition and the advantage of change.

I really hate the ignorant cowards advocating for a prison state watched 24/7 by spyware. They call it “safety”… Yeah, I guess a prison cell is “safer” than liberty- but it’s not worth the trade off, and if they honestly believe it is, I’ll help pay for their emigration to North Korea. They’d be happier there, and we’ll be better off if they aren’t here. With our scary liberty.

As a matter of fact, fusionism is always destined to fail. You can not fuse two things that are opposites. Libertarianism is a revolutionary, radical ideology. It is about neverending change. There is no singular "end goal," but an infinite number of end goals, where each new person creates their own way, their own future, their own end. Conservatism is predicated on the idea that we must return to something, as it was the best. So-called anarchic conservatism, like Hoppeanism etc., attempts to push the notion that the return is to "nature," claiming that we must cast out anything the conservative finds "unnatural." Newsflash, sports fans, neverending change IS natural. Conditions are always changing, which drives each person to have a different set of conditions they're building from on TOP of their being a different person. This means there is no singular "best," nor was there. Libertarianism precludes a "return," a "best," or any other boxing of individuals. That is why the Paleoconservative attack on libertarianism is so silly: it's fundamentally incompatible. It is, by its very nature, an attack on libertarian ideology. If you don't want every single person to choose, for themself, who they want to be, how they want to be, for how long they want to be? You're missing the point of libertarianism. Yes, that leads to property rights, as property is an extension of the self. Yes, that leads to non-aggression, as aggression destroys the self. Libertarianism is about removing all barriers to the full-time creation of the self, for everyone, with everyone's work together to create the infinite selves.

I would call this the bread and circuses presidency, but it’s mostly just circuses. Anything to distract from Operation Epic Failure and Trump’s other epic failures.

The “just comply” crowd that shows up in the comments every time someone is murdered or maimed by law enforcement are often the same people who have “patriot” in their bio. I find it very funny that people don’t see how incongruous that really is.

The "social contract" is the only contract in human history that you never signed, can't renegotiate, and aren't allowed to walk away from. Calling that a contract is a category error.

Learn about two URGENT ballot access drives! We need your help to realize two ballot access opportunities. Remember, the Libertarian Party is once again committed to achieving ballot status in 50-states plus DC. And the new Libertarian National Committee just raised the 2026 ballot access budget from $0 to $82,500! But... Budgeting money isn't the same as having the money! We must still raise it! >>> We're providing funds for two drives, Maryland and Massachusetts. Let me tell you what's at stake in each state, and what we need to finish the job. Maryland This state requires 10,000 signatures, but there's GOOD NEWS! The Maryland LP has already collected the basic 10k requirement! But don't get too confident. Those signatures will be examined and challenged. Some will be declared invalid. We must collect a cushion. That's where the national LP comes in. We're committed to funding those extra signatures. This is a great use of money because... This petition gets us party status both in 2028 and 2030! We must collect and turn in these signatures after July 1. So please donate now! Link in the comments! Please also understand that there is a danger... The longer we wait to get the needed cushion, the more signatures will start to go bad as people move, and if we wait until November, some signatures collected at the start of the drive will become invalid. So let's get this job done now! Massachussets This is a huge opportunity! This petition will put Al Ozonoff on the ballot to run for auditor. If Al gets 3% of the vote, then the LP is automatically qualified for the ballot in 2028! And there's more good news! There is no Republican in this race, so Al is almost guaranteed to meet or exceed 3%. But first, we must get him on the ballot. It's a big signature requirement, and it all has to be done by July 28th! Please help fund this drive! Link in the comments! Help us quickly so we don't push the deadline too close. Remember, this is all part of a bigger picture! We intend to have 50 state ballot status plus DC in 2028. We intend to have 66,000 members by that time - double our previous record - and raise $4 million in that year. All of this is a stepping stone to a larger vision called the Parity Project, which aims to equalize the LP with the Democrats and Republicans in size, funding, visibility, and electoral success. We will do that by locating and recruiting Americans who already self-identify as libertarians or who hold mostly libertarian positions on the issues. But the task today is ballot access. Please make your best contribution to fund these drives, or start a monthly pledge to help fund future drives. >>> Thank you. Evan McMahon Chair, Libertarian National Committee

There are so many things to criticize Democrats over, but here you are slamming them for blocking unconstitutional spying on Americans. You absolutely suck at this.
As millions of Americans gather for large events and summer celebrations, Democrats just BLOCKED the FISA Section 702 national security statute, hampering our ability to detect foreign terrorist threats. This comes after Democrats shut down Homeland Security. This is a stunning and dangerous fact: Democrats are now willing to put petty politics over public safety.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
House Democrats joined 19 Republicans in voting against a FISA 702 extension on June 11, 2026 (198-218), citing concerns over the DNI nominee and demands for warrant protections on U.S. persons' data. nbcnews.com/politics/trump…

New Jersey does not appear to have a residency requirement for petitioners, only those signing. This is a bad ruling done to protect the old parties.

“The Fourth Amendment is the real tyranny.” —Stephen Miller, translated
Across the West, leftist judicial tyranny propels marxism and reverses patriotic reform. Blocking FISA 702 to demand more power for leftist judges is a continuation of the same strategic & ideological error that gave the left decades of institutional dominance in the first place.
