I am honoured and privileged to have been re-elected as the Labour London Assembly Member for Lambeth and Southwark.
Massive congratulations to @SadiqKhan for a historic re-election as the Labour Mayor of London.
Thank you to my constituency for voting for hope over fear.
Early prisoner release scheme?
Let’s look at the facts and why we’ve got to where we are.
650 prisoners released early this week because there’s nowhere left to put them.
The Tories closed 23 prisons in 14 years, leaving the prison system 99.7% full.

London is full of businesses with big ideas - many of which just need funding and investment to help them on their way.
This new £70 million fund will help close that gap, allowing them to achieve their ambitions ⬇️ cityam.com/london-launches-7…
Encouraging news for London: hospital admissions for young people assaulted with a knife have fallen by 55% since @SadiqKhan established the Violence Reduction Unit. A real impact of investing in prevention and supporting young people, We know there’s still more to do.
One million Londoners reached. Thousands fewer victims of violence.
Our @LDN_VRU is helping turn the tide, with hospital admissions for young people injured in knife assaults down 55% since 2019.
This shows what prevention can achieve, but there’s more to do.

It’s taken me a while to share this, but I was genuinely touched by @Jamie4North’s kind words.
Politics can be challenging, so recognition from someone in another party means a lot.
Thank you, Jamie, for your kindness.

Clean air shouldn’t be a privilege.
In London, we’ve seen how bold action on air quality can make a huge difference.
⬇️ Harmful roadside pollution down by 27%
⬇️ 40% fall in estimated deaths linked to toxic air
That’s real progress. But everyone, no matter their background or where they live, deserves cleaner air.

The country has a clear choice.
Racism, dodgy donations and sleaze with Reform.
Or, positivity, unity and hope with Labour.
We know who we are backing. Labour is the future.
An excellent example of @metpoliceuk working with @BTP @TfL listening to community concerns and intelligence in Brixton. These operations and subsequent arrests are a positive move to make the community safer.
Well done!

Last night, we called on Lambeth Green Party to condemn their national policy and reassure Jewish residents they are safe and welcome in Lambeth.
So far they have refused to do so.
We have a duty to build bridges not walls between the communities we are elected to represent.

Tonight, we’ve asked the Leader of Lambeth Council to write publicly to Jewish groups and publish a statement distancing the council from the divisive national Green Party motion classifying Zionism as racism.

Kemi Badenoch thinks “privatisation was a success". She's living in an alternate reality.
Water is a symbol of what has gone wrong in Britain.
In the years since privatisation our waterways have been pumped with sewage whilst water bosses receive bonus after bonus.
Labour is putting an end to this with a strengthened Water Bill which will repeal Margaret Thatcher’s ideological ban on public ownership of water companies.
And we’ll also give Mayors new powers to hold water companies to account, and close the loopholes water companies use to pay excessive bonuses.
