Agreed. It’s a big reason why Stan Twitter has become so frustrating to be on. I’ve seen people claim most people in this community like using stan culture to live out mean girl fantasies so to speak and it often sure does feel like it, and that’s just exhausting.
I genuinely think music criticism on this app has gotten so lazy, mean-spirited, and repetitive. And no, you don’t have to like everything an artist releases. I certainly don’t. But there’s a difference between criticizing someone’s music and making them the punching bag of the week. I wish some of y’all loved discussing music as much as you love dragging the people making it.
