In 1768, Louisianians rejected the tyranny & misrule of Spain. The Louisiana Rebellion of 1768 forced the representative of the Spanish Crown, the governor, to flee overseas on Nov. 1. Louisiana was self-governing until Spain reasserted control Aug. 1769. In fact, Louisiana had been mostly self-governed since France ceded Louisiana to Spain 5 years earlier. Join us to make Louisiana independent again! This revolt began Oct 29 when the colony’s Supreme Council, including Joseph Villeré, voted to banish the governor. They issued a printed "Memoire" to justify their actions, which may have influenced the 13 colonies’ Declaration of Independence later. The Memoire says (in French) “…What wrong have we done in shaking off a foreign yoke, which the hand that imposed it rendered still more overwhelming? What wrong have we done, finally, in claiming back our laws, our country, our sovereign… Are, then, those praiseworthy attempts without an example in our history? More than one town of France… have they not several times broken the English yoke with fury, or refused their fetters with constancy?…”
At minute mark 1:16 we discuss: -What makes Louisiana different? -How would Louisiana become independent? -Louisiana is excluded from tariff revenue & offshore oil lease royalties because we’re in the Union -Will we need a passport? -Political polarization in the US

"We cannot and will not wait for Washington; we will take lawful action to protect our citizens." I totally agree with you
Homeland security begins here at home. Protecting Louisiana means securing our state against every threat - violent criminals unlawfully present in our state, foreign adversaries targeting our critical infrastructure, or foreign terrorists endangering Louisianians. My legislation, made effective August 1, 2026, directly addresses one of those threats by making it a new state crime for anyone who isn’t a U.S. citizen and isn’t legally allowed to be in the country to enter Louisiana illegally allowing the state to now prosecute them. We cannot and will not wait for Washington; we will take lawful action to protect our citizens. press-herald.com/sen-valarie…

HB 610 allows the state treasurer to invest up to 10% of state government's funds in gold to preserve independence from federal failures But Chairman Glenn Womack (R) hasn't put it on the Senate Finance Committee's agenda for tomorrow. End of session is June 1. Contact him
HB 610 passed 93-2 in the House, and both bills will get 2nd reading & referral in the Senate today. Ask your state senator for vote YES on these important state sovereignty bills

If Louisiana were a country, we wouldn't face the risk every 4 years that Northern politicians are going to crush the industries that power our state. Louisiana would have the sovereignty to protect our people, livelihoods, cultures, dialects, and values.
If Louisiana was a country, we would be number 1 in the world in LNG exports. Thanks @CNBC for having me on to discuss!
