This makes me feel old, but what an awesome walk down memory lane.
My first job in journalism was in Jackson, Mississippi. One of the most nerve-wrecking assignments I was responsible for compiling was our annual class of the state's top 12 high school football players.
The 2015 @clarionledger Dandy Dozen class was one of the most talent rich we'd ever seen in the history of the state. Check out these some of these names and what they went on to do/are actively doing in the NFL.
Jeffery Simmons, Noxubee County - Current Chicago Bear, 1st team All-Pro/4x Pro Bowler with Tennessee Titans
A.J. Brown, Starkville - Current New England Patriot, won a Super Bowl with the Eagles, set Philly's single season receiving yards record, 3x 2nd team All-Pro
D.K. Metcalf, Oxford - Current Pittsburgh Steeler, 2nd team All-Pro, 2x Pro Bowler with Seahawks
Raekwon Davis, Meridian - 80 games (48 starts) over 5 seasons with Miami and Indianapolis
Benito Jones, Wayne County - 71 games (38 starts) over 5 seasons with Miami and Detroit
Kobe Jones, Starkville - UDFA who spent 2021-24 with 6 NFL teams, played in the CFL, currently playing in UFL

Syniker Taylor 6'2" 195 Gulfport HS, Mississippi is a terrifically talented WR with strong hands, good speed, quick twitch athletic ability and he combines that with elite tracking ability. Class of 2029. Dad played for Ole Miss.@Syniker_Taylor 3.5 GPA. Good playmaking instincts.

Big Ten Championship. Oregon vs. Penn State. The biggest stage of their season up to that point, and this is the warm-up.
A pregame warm-up has one job: get athletes warm, sharp and ready without spending anything they'll need in the fourth quarter. It isn't a stage for the strength coach.
Too many of these jobs go to hype men instead of coaches who know the weight room. Athletes see through it.
Coach the athletes, not the camera.

Aside from this being two different issues that aren’t correlated at all, it’s pretty astounding that no one who covers or is involved with LSU has ever once considered the completely unserious way in which the school is being run (by a politician) and thought or said “oh, maybe LSU is the problem. Maybe everyone else isn’t crazy and does not have it out for them”

Wait till you hear about the Kentucky state troopers who tried to run him off the road.
LSU coach Lane Kiffin says a ref told him Kentucky’s tush push TD wasn’t blown dead (for a lack of forward momentum) because too much was at stake in that moment.

Well, that's the end of the goodwill Lane Kiffin had. He's going to have at least half LSU's fan base asking some very rude questions and they aren't going to stop until he delivers what he's being paid to do.
Shit the bed every time you go on the road, and people notice.
