This makes me feel old, but what an awesome walk down memory lane. My first job in journalism was in Jackson, Mississippi. One of the most nerve-wrecking assignments I was responsible for compiling was our annual class of the state's top 12 high school football players. The 2015 @clarionledger Dandy Dozen class was one of the most talent rich we'd ever seen in the history of the state. Check out these some of these names and what they went on to do/are actively doing in the NFL. Jeffery Simmons, Noxubee County - Current Chicago Bear, 1st team All-Pro/4x Pro Bowler with Tennessee Titans A.J. Brown, Starkville - Current New England Patriot, won a Super Bowl with the Eagles, set Philly's single season receiving yards record, 3x 2nd team All-Pro D.K. Metcalf, Oxford - Current Pittsburgh Steeler, 2nd team All-Pro, 2x Pro Bowler with Seahawks Raekwon Davis, Meridian - 80 games (48 starts) over 5 seasons with Miami and Indianapolis Benito Jones, Wayne County - 71 games (38 starts) over 5 seasons with Miami and Detroit Kobe Jones, Starkville - UDFA who spent 2021-24 with 6 NFL teams, played in the CFL, currently playing in UFL

Aside from this being two different issues that aren’t correlated at all, it’s pretty astounding that no one who covers or is involved with LSU has ever once considered the completely unserious way in which the school is being run (by a politician) and thought or said “oh, maybe LSU is the problem. Maybe everyone else isn’t crazy and does not have it out for them” Just wild.
The SEC has the fight in them to go after LSU in Federal court, and yet, they don't have the fight to fix their own officiating incompetence and mishaps.

It is fantastic. I cannot express to you how fantastic Mississippi is. Its landscape; its people; its Southern charm; @OleMiss; @umdeclaration; my colleagues; everything is warm, genuine, and magical.

Well, that's the end of the goodwill Lane Kiffin had. He's going to have at least half LSU's fan base asking some very rude questions and they aren't going to stop until he delivers what he's being paid to do. Shit the bed every time you go on the road, and people notice. Now the whole SEC is laughing at you, Lane. Next time actually prepare your team to play and see what happens.

The SEC, without notice, filed a complaint in federal court in Alabama against LSU then added the AG. The lawsuit was without merit, and the court lacked jurisdiction. The SEC has known this from the outset. I gave the SEC two weeks to dismiss this frivolous suit but it has not - so I took legally appropriate action to protect State interests.

A news release from Lafayette County Metro Narcotics - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Lafayette County Metro Narcotics Unit Executes Search Warrant at Oxford Business OXFORD, MISS. — On Thursday, September 24, 2026, the Lafayette County Metro Narcotics Unit received information regarding the alleged sale of illegal substances from a retail business located within the City of Oxford. During the investigation, Metro Narcotics agents were able to conduct a controlled purchase of illegal substances from the business. Based upon evidence obtained during the investigation, agents applied for and were granted a search warrant. Law enforcement officers subsequently executed the search warrant at Puffs Vape, Tobacco and Beer Store, located in the 100 block of Heritage Drive in Oxford. During the search, agents recovered more than 500 units of kratom, along with an assortment of THC cartridges, gummies, and other suspected narcotics. Kratom has been prohibited from possession, distribution, and sale within the City of Oxford since 2019. Yahya Mohamed Mosleh, 51, of Oxford, and Islam Mohamed, 18, of Oxford, were arrested and charged with possession of Schedule I controlled substances with intent to distribute. In 2022, the business owner, Amer Alowdi, 40 years old, was indicted for trafficking narcotics. Alowdi fled the country before prosecution. Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues. For years, our community has taken a clear position regarding these types of products. We have educated businesses, conducted compliance checks, and worked aggressively to prevent illegal and potentially dangerous substances from being sold in Oxford. Despite those efforts, some individuals and businesses continue to put profit ahead of the safety of the people who live, work, and attend school in our community. Our message is direct: if you choose to illegally sell these substances in our community, expect law enforcement to come looking for you. We will investigate. We will obtain warrants. We will seize illegal products, and we will hold those responsible accountable. This investigation does not end with these arrests. These individuals and this business are not necessarily the only people involved in the illegal distribution of these products, and they should not expect to be the last arrests made as our enforcement efforts continue. We are extremely grateful for the hard work of the Lafayette County Metro Narcotics Unit, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, and every local, state, and federal law enforcement partner assisting with these investigations. Our responsibility is to protect this community. We will continue pursuing those who knowingly place dangerous and illegal substances into it. This remains an active investigation. Additional information will be released when appropriate

“Lane’s team” but yet Lane isnt the HC, half the team is brand new, every player on the 25 roster had the opportunity to follow Lane and were tampered with yet only 2 starters left. Seems like it was more of Trinidad Chambliss and Pete Golding’s team after all…

Despite the loss, LSU downplays Ole Miss as a serious opponent, comparing the defending CFP Semifinalists to a team that hasn’t beaten a P4 opponent in over 42 weeks.
On his SEC teleconference, LSU coach Lane Kiffin recasts the Ole Miss loss, saying more is made of it because of the Oxford return drama. He asks, "How would everyone be feeling if in your third game of your first year you went to Ohio State and you came all the way back?"
