It’s pretty telling that right after Haley Stevens lost, she bought herself goodwill by helping AES for about one minute when it didn’t really matter…and now at the close of the race when it does matter, she and her corporate Dem faction are just openly trying to undermine him.
I will say this — corporate Dems understand the stakes. They understand that if AES wins, they are over. That’s why they have been trying to knife him. So in that sense, their behavior is a reflection of how desperate they feel.

Last Detroit News-Glengariff poll in September had Rogers leading 46-44, now has El Sayed up by +6, 51-45 — consolidating Dems, 88% of Black voters, leading with independents, and crushing it with younger voters.

I mean this in the most polite way I can possibly say it, but if you’re voting for republicans because you’re afraid children are getting gender reassignment surgeries, I fear you are the dumbest fucking person on the planet.

The lack of polls is weird. Either they don’t want to be wrong, or there’s a blue wave so massive that its unbelievable

I try to avoid criticizing other pollsters much nowadays, but this is ridiculous. This is basically just what you do if you don't believe your polls and don't have the guts to stand by your numbers. Democrats aren't doing 7% worse with likely voters in 2026.

Per Marist’s Maine poll:
73% of likely voters said they “always” vote in elections.
79% of registered voters said they “always” vote in elections.
What are we even doing here gang

The data to me says that if anything the issue of Israel is helpful to El-Sayed in Michigan.
He does better among voters who say it's extremely impt to their vote than overall.
Most Mich voters & indies want military aid ended or reduced to Israel.
AIPAC is deeply unpopular.

Here's Haley Stevens practically fawning over Mike Rogers, proving once again that her only real ideological commitment is to zionism.
BASH: “You're still fully behind Abdul El-Sayed?”
STEVENS: “Look, I'm on the Democratic ticket. I can't say that I agree with everything that's gone on… I'm looking to be on the team to support my next governor Jocelyn Benson, and frankly these great Democrats who are working their tails off, who are going to make Hakeem Jeffries the first black Speaker of the House.”
BASH: “You didn't mention Abdul El-Sayed in that last answer.”
STEVENS: “Well, look, I would just say, you had asked me if I'm still on the team, I'm on the team.”

Trying to imagine how much El-Sayed would have been pilloried if he had gone on tv shows and said this about Stevens had she won in the primary

Many red state Democrats have successfully navigated this by telling people that we shouldn’t be focusing on such a small issue and that everyone is deserving of kindness.
I don’t want to hear about how open transphobia and calling trans women “men” is how you win elections.

AdImpact: Josh Turek releases new ad in which he opposes trans women competing in women’s sports
“No Iowan should face discrimination. As a Paralympian, I also know it's important to have rules.”
“It's why I oppose males competing in female sports ... I'm against taxpayers paying for sex changes, too.”

*whispers* pollsters will also take less heat if they end up underestimating Democrats than if they end up underestimating Republicans this year.
I'm not sure what it would take to de-entrench the presumption that polls systematically underrate conservative parties or candidates. It's not true historically, but it's a cheapie take that will never really get you criticized.

Utah, Alabama, and West Virginia all have a more pro-trans Medicaid policy than what Turek is advocating for. Those are all *significantly* redder than Iowa. He does not need to do this to win.

Yeah, no, this goes above and beyond “Democrat running in a Red State” and into the Joe Manchin “center-right Republican running as a Democrat” zone.
New: Iowa Democrat Josh Turek is running a radical Senate campaign ... to the center
- Opposes impeachment
- Supports Laken Riley Act
- Criticizes Dems for blocking Husted data center bill and farm bill
- Ticks off all the ways he can work with Trump
“Politically, the term moderate can be pejorative. And I say that I’m proudly a moderate," he says in an interview.
His opponent, Rep. Ashley Hinson, says Turek is "going to be voting with Chuck Schumer 100% of the time." But she too is running toward the center, distancing herself from Trump on Iran, Russia and Vivek ad
Turek: Hinson’s “masquerading. I mean that’s a problem for me. I’m genuinely a bipartisan person,” he added. “She has been partisan. … Just be who you are.”
