When I started Atticus six years ago, never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that we would come this far. It is a source of immense pride. Well done to the team for all their hard work. We go again.
Delighted to be named as the 12th largest public affairs agency in the UK by revenue in the latest @prweek rankings, up three places from last year. Congratulations to our hard-working, talented team for delivering such an outstanding year!

Inflation up to 3.5%, borrowing at £24.5bn, debt exceeds £3trn, interest rates expected to rise as are energy bills by 20%. Sterling weaker, as are bond yields and the FTSE. Labour promised much ahead of the general election. They have delivered absolutely none of it. And this is before the Budget. Everyone was warned. Life under Labour.

Planning applications for data centres are popping up all over the country, including in my ward. Constituents are concerned about emissions, ecology and noise pollution, amongst others. A key area of debate centres on whether planning decisions should sit at a national or local level. Currently, under planning law, the principle of development can be established before a detailed design is approved. This is a problem. DCs are eligible to be designated under the NSIP regime. MHCLG should IMO answer the question in all instances as to whether such sites are needed locally, and if yes, then they should meet the test of appropriate design in its entirety, including the scheme.

A smile worth a thousand words: Sky News: Trump is facing pretty difficult midterm elections. Do you think you are being treated as a scapegoat for his own problems? Zelenskyy [smiling]: “This is my answer.” Couldn't imagine a better answer. 👏

Next year will mark 45 years since British forces liberated the Falkland Islands. For some of those veterans who fought in that conflict, this may be one of the last major anniversaries they see. We have confirmed that commemorations will take place on the islands to mark the anniversary, honouring those who paid the ultimate price for the freedom of the Falkland Islanders.

Great to attend the formal opening this afternoon of The Treehouse, @BFTF_Wokingham's purpose-built facility on Thames Valley Park. Jane and the team have created the most amazing space serving over 400 families across Berkshire and the wider Thames Valley area. Very pleased to see the Disability Minister, Sir Stephen Timms accept our invitation to open the facility. We are very lucky to have such an amazing dedicated team here on our doorstep. My team and I at @AtticusPartners will continue to do our part to help identify funding sources, either from government or private philanthropy. If you would like to get involved and help BFTF expand on its amazing mandate, get in touch.

Thanks to the Lib Dems inability to deliver a Local Plan and housing supply, aided and abetted by the Labour government’s national housing target, much of my ward and Wokingham faces the prospect of large-scale housing across Greenbelt and green field sites. This cannot be allowed to happen and something that we as Conservatives will fight tooth and nail over.

Reconciliation between Azerbaijan and Armenia will take time, with people-to-people engagement playing a key role in the peace process, Leon Cook, Founder of Atticus Partners, told AnewZ’s Caucasus Now. Cook said Azerbaijan’s demand for a formal constitutional change in Armenia is understandable from the perspective of border stability, while stressing that greater interaction between the two societies will be crucial for lasting peace. He said visits between the two countries and greater contact could help build mutual understanding after decades of conflict.

Someone listening to this would probably think it was created with AI. This is an actual debate and acts as a microcosm for everything you need to know about the Lib Dems. Utterly ridiculous.

“I would be really concerned to lose them.” Prime Minister Andy Burnham on the possibility of Manchester City’s owners selling up. What?! These are owners found guilty of serial breaches of the Premier League rule-book by three judges on an independent commission after a lengthy investigation. Owners who outraged other clubs and countless fans by flouting the rules and inflating sponsorship income with the Disguised Funding Scheme. Owners who misled auditors and regulators, who threaten to bring this Premier League season – and, potentially, future seasons - to a standstill by their appeal, deny, delay tactics. Owners who are patently not proper custodians of a famous, historic club. Owners who many hope will sell up and ship out after bringing such shame and sham contracts to the game. So these are astonishing, alarming comments from the PM. “I do actually thank the City Football Group and the wider ownership for the money that they didn't just put into the Etihad and the campus around it but also into the city," Burnham told the BBC’s Chris Mason. Come on, PM. Read the room. Read the commission’s report. Read the belligerent statements from the Abu Dhabi owners and their chief executive like Ferran Soriano. Rather than thank CFG, perhaps thank the diligence of the Premier League in seeking to enforce its rules and protect the national sport. Perhaps thank the three judges for their pain-staking work in sifting through reams of evidence and coming to their considered conclusion. Burnham spoke as a politician seemingly with one eye on diplomatic and trade links. He spoke as a former mayor whose city benefited from investment in east Manchester by Abu Dhabi. “They've been such a huge partner in the building of modern Manchester and obviously the building of Manchester City into the global force that it is.” And how was that building financed? Burnham spoke as a politician and not the football fan that he truly is. The lifelong Evertonian is usually pretty sound on football matters. He misread the mood of many fans not wanting the possible return of drinking in Premier League stands but that was a rare misstep. This is far worse. This makes him look out of touch with the prevailing mood. He was speaking at Hill Dickinson Stadium. Maybe he should head to Anfield on Sunday week and witness the anger felt towards City. Burnham did add that he wasn’t getting involved in the process and that City had a right to appeal if they felt harshly treated. But how does the PM’s sympathetic words for controversial owners help the independent football regulator charged by Government with leading the fight against those who risk the credibility of their club, who play fast and loose with the rules and who damage the integrity of the national sport? How frustrating if Burnham’s words embolden City's owners and Soriano further. Bit of an own goal by No 10.
