@ikwilson of @LetABDecide says Alberta's relationship with Ottawa is akin to domestic violence. Political scientist Dr. Feo Snagovsky isn't having it.

Today, I proudly voted to move Alberta toward a legally binding independence referendum! 💙
I did it for my children, for future generations of Albertans, and to send a clear message to Ottawa.
I believe Alberta deserves a future where we control our own destiny. The Republic of Alberta could become an incredible country!
Albertans just can’t win in Ottawa, says lawyer Keith Wilson, who co-leads the Alberta Transition Council. The Oct. 19 referendum will give Albertans a chance to have their say in the province’s future: whether it remains in Canada or takes another step toward possible separation.
Watch our full interview with Wilson on this week’s episode of Open Question, out this Friday on YouTube, CPAC.ca and all podcast platforms.

Scott Robertson is being identified as connected to MeidasTouch, a US-based political organization reportedly backed by George Soros.
Why is a US-based political media organization involved in vilifying Albertans for supporting independence?

Vassy: Do you think that that hardcore, smaller group of actual separatists will accept whatever happens on the 19th?
Jason Kenney: They're pre-positioning that this will be rigged because that's the script they've learned from MAGA, who inspires them.

One year ago, I stood on the steps of the Alberta Legislature and looked out at a sea of Albertans who had come from every corner of this province.
I remember looking at those faces. The flags. The families. The people who had driven for hours just to stand together and be part of something they believed in.
At the time, it was the largest Alberta independence rally our province had ever seen.
I remember wondering what the next year would bring. Whether the momentum would grow. Whether all those conversations around kitchen tables, in coffee shops, and across farm fields would ever lead us to a moment when Albertans could actually have their say.
And now, here we are.
A year later, we’re heading back to those same steps. Only this time, something has changed.
We’re no longer wondering whether Albertans will get the opportunity to decide their future. October 19th is referendum day.
I think about how much has happened in a single year. The miles travelled. The conversations had. The friendships made. The ordinary Albertans who found the courage to stand up and speak about something they believe in, even when it wasn’t easy.
And I think about how fortunate I am to have witnessed it all.
Next weekend, we’ll gather again. I expect the crowd will be bigger, the emotions stronger, and the significance of that moment even greater.
But I don’t ever want to forget what it felt like standing on those steps a year ago, looking out at all those people and realizing that something was changing in Alberta.
History has a way of feeling ordinary while you’re living through it. Sometimes you don’t recognize the moments that will matter until you look back.
One year. The same steps. A very different moment in Alberta’s history.
I’ll see you at the Legislature next weekend.
And I have a feeling it’s going to be one of those days we’ll remember forever.

🚨 STOP VANDALIZING ALBERTA INDEPENDENCE SIGNS.
Whether you support independence or oppose it, destroying someone else’s political signs is unacceptable.
We live in a democracy. On October 19, cast your vote and make your voice heard. Don’t intimidate your political opponents or destroy their property.
Political disagreement is not a licence to break the law.
Respect democracy. Respect property rights. Vote Alberta.
