AI video is advanced enough that we can expect to see zoom call phishing (can I coin the word 'zooshing'?) become a widespread problem in short order. Start coordinating strategies like codewords with your family, friends, & business contacts. #zooshing youtu.be/m7cdSfIiALE?si=j4oj…

This is a huge security upgrade for iOS users. GrapheneOS on Google Pixel 8 (or 9,+) devices also provides similar advanced memory protection features. But now, normies with iPhones can enjoy a safer mobile device experience.

So Gemini on Android is about to forcefully get access to your WhatsApp + Messages, regardless if you've previously turned it off? And they want to dress it up like they're helping you? Please tell me I'm misunderstanding something here...

EXCLUSIVE: The CCP Might Already Be Spying on You—Right From Your Own Home Do you know what kind of router you’re using? If it’s made by TP-Link, there’s a chance the CCP can monitor everything you do online. Or what about the video games your kids play? Some come bundled with spyware that stays on the device, even after the game is deleted. @JoshJPhilipp has spent years exposing how deep the CCP surveillance nightmare goes. Routers, apps, USB drives, even electric kettles could be quietly sending your data straight to the Chinese Communist Party. If it’s cheap and convenient, it probably compromised. This interview will make you rethink everything in your house. 🧵 THREAD

tl;dr: Update all your Apple devices ASAP, & disable Airplay whenever it is not in use.
Replying to @andyleitermann
You're likely referring to the AirBorne vulnerabilities in Apple's AirPlay protocol, disclosed April 28, 2025. These no-interaction, wormable, remote code execution flaws allow attacks over Wi-Fi. Apple patched its devices in March 2025 (iOS 18.4, macOS Sequoia 15.4, etc.), but many third-party devices remain at risk. To stay safe: 1. Update Apple devices to the latest software. 2. Check third-party devices for patches or disable AirPlay. 3. Avoid AirPlay on public Wi-Fi. The recent disclosure may cause confusion, but updates mitigate risks.

Storming Capitols across the county isn't cheap. That's why I started my own company to help fund the journey. Sure, I could have just done an OnlyFans page where you pay me to move furniture around my home, and I still might one day if my company goes under. Until then, check out my new business. An unfortunate reminder to fortify ALL your systems against cancelation. Give these guys your business if you enjoy a cigar!
Subject: A Humble Ask from 1689 Cigars Dear Friends of 1689, This isn’t your typical marketing email—but then again, 1689 Cigars has never been about doing things the typical way. Due to an unexpected situation with our previous credit card processor (Lightspeed Payments), our working capital is being held for 120 days. That’s right—funds from completed transactions are locked up, and we’ve been left holding the bag while we wait. Here’s where you come in. If everyone on this email list were to purchase just one cigar, it would be enough to keep operations running smoothly over the next few months while we weather this financial chokehold. This is more than just a sale—it’s a call to rally behind a company that’s always stood for craftsmanship, tradition, and unapologetic values. We’ve built this brand on grit, integrity, and the belief that Christian men should lead, build, and smoke boldly. And right now, we need our community to help us keep going. We know this isn't a normal ask—but we believe in doing business transparently. So we’re humbly asking: Will you stand with us and buy just one cigar today? You can order directly at: 1689cigars.com With gratitude and smoke in the air, Chance Summers Founder, 1689 Cigars Built for Rebels. Smoked by Men.

Google has had known issues with their email security for years, and it's a nightmare from a cybersecurity perspective. Just because an email says it came from Google or Youtube, always look for alternative ways to verify the authenticity of its content.
Recently I was targeted by an extremely sophisticated phishing attack, and I want to highlight it here. It exploits a vulnerability in Google's infrastructure, and given their refusal to fix it, we're likely to see it a lot more. Here's the email I got:

An iPhone suggestion to update a contact with a phone number seen inside the conversation is what led to Mike Waltz inadvertently saving an Atlantic reporter’s phone number under the name of the person he was chatting with, which was Brian Hughes. Automated suggestion on tech can be so damn dangerous.

The CVE (Common Vulnerabilities & Exposures Database) story is growing increasingly bizarre. There is a letter making the rounds from Mitre Corporation, which is the company tasked with operating the CVE Database. (Mitre has been around since the 1950s and has multiple government contracts, including from the Air Force.) That letter — which says a “break in service may occur” tomorrow due to an expired contract with the government — was not published officially. It was a “leaked” letter to the CVE Board. The CVE Board consists of representatives from Microsoft, Red Hat, and several others. Supposedly one of those company installed Board Members leaked the letter (which has been verified by multiple sources). But who leaked it? The InfoSec / Cybersecurity world is having a bit of a panic attack over this story. It will be interesting to see how it actually unfolds… will the CVE Database actually go offline tomorrow? We’ll find out soon.

Who are you kidding. You cannot name one government or one private organization that has not been hacked. I have worked in IT Security for 25 years and that is one of the lamest arguments I have ever heard. The fact is, if you take public money, an audit comes with that money.

Mildly ironic that "open source" hosts the most closed-minded thinkers
The Open Source Initiative (@OpenSourceOrg) just rigged their own Board of Directors election. After their members had already voted (and voting was closed), the Open Source Initiative completely removed the candidates who were the most “problematic” — refusing to disclose how many votes those candidates received. Why are Open Source organizations so bad at democracy and transparency?

🚨NEW: Some more detail on the @BankingGOP’s debanking hearing and the witness list announced today from me and my @FoxBusiness colleague @ChaseWilliams_z: The Senate Banking Committee has announced a list of witnesses who will testify next week in a highly anticipated hearing on so-called “de-banking” -- the controversial practice of denying banking services to customers tied to industries or causes deemed politically sensitive. The issue of unlawful debanking made headlines in December following prominent tech investor Marc Andreessen’s appearance on the popular Joe Rogan podcast in which he alleged that more than two dozen tech and crypto founders were de-banked as part of the Biden Administration’s regulatory crackdown on the $3.5 trillion digital assets industry. The topic resurfaced last week when President Trump took a jab at Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan during his remote address to the World Economic Forum, alleging that Bank of America and JPMorgan have been restricting banking access to conservatives. “They don’t take conservative business, and I don’t know if the regulators mandated that because of Biden or what but you and Jamie [Dimon] and everybody,” Trump said. “I hope you open your banks to conservatives because what you’re doing is wrong.” Moynihan promptly changed the subject following Trump’s remarks and a Bank of America spokesperson has since denied Trump’s claim. Dimon responded to the allegation during an appearance on The Unshakeables, a podcast affiliated with the bank’s Chase for Business division, where he denied that JPMorgan had ever debanked customers for political reasons. But witnesses at next week’s Senate Banking hearing, chaired by Republican @SenatorTimScott, are gearing up to tell a different story. @EvanHafer, the founder and executive chairman of the veteran-owned @blckriflecoffee is expected to inform members of the Banking Committee that he has been the target of debanking over what he believes are his conservative political leanings, as well as prior criticisms of progressive, or “woke” ideals like Diversity, Equity and Inclusion mandates and so-called Environmental, Social and Governance investing. Nathan McCauley, the CEO & co-founder of the cryptocurrency platform @Anchorage, is preparing to inform the committee about how his company was the target of debanking even though Anchorage is a federally regulated institution overseen by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. In December, the House Financial Services Committee held a hearing on how technology is helping to shape the future of finance in which @nathanmccauley testified about his firm’s struggles to keep lasting relationships with partner banks. “Our bank actually did tell us they were debanking us because we were in the business of crypto,” McCauley told lawmakers in the hearing. “That was particularly surprising because we ourselves are a national bank.” The Financial Services Committee under its new chairman, @RepFrenchHill, is set to hold its own hearing on debanking next Thursday, the day after the Senate Banking Committee holds theirs. In addition to Hafer and McCauley, a financial services law expert who serves as a partner at white shoe law firm Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, will also testify about his experience with clients being debanked. Congress’s crusade against debanking practices has sparked a conversation among big banks executives about how opaque guidance from regulators, which some say could be the root cause for instances of debanking, needs to be fixed. “We have to comply with the law, but it's ambiguous and we're punished if we make a mistake in our judgement,” Dimon said on The Unshakeables podcast. “We're not allowed to tell you why we debanked you, so, if we think there's a risk of fraud, we think there's a risk of money laundering, and if we don't debank you, we'll get in big trouble. We’ve been complaining about this for years. We need to fix it.”
