I'm realizing that we didn't love the ANC the same. To us it was a church, it was sacrosanct, it was an institution for black people's freedom and upliftment. To others it was an opportunity to get rich and exercise power. There are some who would rather it die in their hands , then release it because for them it is a livelihood....to us it was a philosophy.

π΄ Ramaphosa reportedly proposed that the ANCβs top seven officials consider resigning.
π΄ He allegedly indicated that he was prepared to step down alone.
π΄ ANC Deputy President Paul Mashatile and other senior leaders reportedly opposed the proposal.
π΄ An early ANC elective conference was suggested as an alternative.
β οΈ Ramaphosa has NOT resigned. The ANC spokesperson says she is unaware of the reported discussions.
The reports concern his position as ANC president, not a formal resignation from the South African presidency.

Ramaphosa Considers Resigning As ANC Leader After Election Losses
ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa has reportedly raised the possibility of stepping down as ANC president following the partyβs poor performance in the 4 November local government elections.
According to the Sunday Times, at least five senior ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) members said Ramaphosa suggested that he should resign, arguing that two successive electoral defeats under his leadership required consequences.
Sources told the newspaper that he was prepared to step down alone if the ANCβs top seven officials did not support his proposal for the entire leadership to vacate their positions.
One NEC member reportedly warned that his departure as ANC president could also spell the end of the government of national unity (GNU), arguing that he could not leave the party leadership while remaining head of the national government.
The ANC's national support dropped to approximately 31% in the latest elections, compared with 46% in 2021. The party also fell to 40% in the 2024 national and provincial elections.
Senior ANC members have reportedly urged Ramaphosa to reconsider and allow time for reflection, while secretary-general Fikile Mbalula has emphasised collective responsibility for the electoral defeat.
The ANC's NEC is meeting to assess the results as the party faces coalition negotiations in several municipalities where it has lost its outright majority.

This is a theory we must not accept:
I saw black people vote and many of them.
We are black people are not a problem, the problem us the rigging process
Almost half of the people I know didnβt vote on Wednesday and we can all attest to how we saw White people and their kids stand in line on Wednesday to go vote.
Black people took Wednesday as a holiday so itβs not shocking the numbers DA have. Thereβs no rigging of votes or anything so stop that lie. We failed to do what our parents did from 1994 so stop the blame game.
