Burning fossil fuels killing life on the planet. World Heritage listed coral reefs are bearing brunt of fossil fuel companies like ⁦@WoodsideEnergy⁩ profits. Opening the Kimberley to fracking is unconscionable and ⁦@RogerCookMLA⁩ can stop it. abc.net.au/news/science/2025…

Santos has walked back emissions targets in its latest climate report, and is using carbon capture and storage (CCS) as a smokescreen for expanding gas production. Any emissions captured by Moomba CCS will be a drop in the ocean compared with Santos' current annual emissions.

MUST READ thorough @SBSNews investigation. Adani claims to love North Queensland and local workers but treats them like crap. Their "cheap coal for poor Indians" is now very expensive coal sold elsewhere. Labor and the LNP should be forever ashamed. sbs.com.au/news/article/adan…

QLD farmers stop oil and gas giant Shell (Arrow) drilling for coal seam gas on their land. Onshore gas drilling causes water table to drop, land to subside making cropping impossible, and risks contamination with toxic fracking chemicals. abc.net.au/news/2025-01-28/a…

.@AustralianLabor approved 3 more coal mines literally today.
What a difference a decade makes.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This is demonstrably untrue. The Federal Labor government and Tanya Plibersek have approved several coal mines in 2024 epbcpublicportal.environment.gov.au/all-notices/ australiainstitute.org.au/initiative/coa…

Is this the most out of touch tweet of 2024? CFO of global coal giant @AdaniOnline says climate change is fine because he hasn't personally noticed any impacts to the harbour front mansions of Sydney's wealthiest suburbs from his own harbour front mansion. 🤦‍♀️
This cannot be true for Woolloomooloo Bay, Elizabeth Bay, Rushcutters Bay, Point Piper, Double Bay, Bellevue Hill, Rose Bay, Vaucluse, Watson Bay...nothing seems to have changed for all the waterfornt homes for past 50 years ( 30 of which i have lived in this area) right on the harbourfront. #auspol @Kmorefive @Kate3015

Even if it worked, which it doesn’t, it would inject less than 10% of Chevron’s Gorgon LNG’s emissions. Gorgon was only approved on condition of “CCS” and taxpayers footed $90m of the cost, and liability. Another gas industry fraud. reneweconomy.com.au/expensiv…

One of Australia's big banks @NAB is using a massive loophole to keep funding fossil fuel clients, despite the bank committing to the Paris Agreement. NAB is effectively trying to brush 90% of its clients' emissions under the rug, hoping customers and shareholders won't notice.
