Cut public sector workers real terms pay for 14 years in power. Then threaten to ban them from striking. The Tory way.

Nobody can tell me that this isn’t partly due to the 52 tACP/ACPs working in #Nottingham A&E on the ‘tiered’ rota
When you replace @BMAResidents with 52 non-medically qualified nurses, physios , Paramedics, ODPs, radiographers etc playing Dr?
This is the result

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Leaked emails expose rift at scandal-hit @nottmhospitals as desperate A&E staff whistleblew to CQC over dangerous A&E overcrowding and false reporting of waiting times data. Insiders warn of unsafe care being normalised.

#consultants - DOCTORS including family medicine consultants (GPs) deserve to be paid £200k plus more !
I Fully support them #strike hard
First the headlines
Then the ‘opinion pieces’
Then the retired old doctors
Then a sanctimonious current consultant, usually the same ‘enabler’ colleague that has promoted Dr substitution w/ PAs & the advanced practice alphabet circus
Set your clock by it

This is what happens when @andyburnham & @YvetteCooperMP run down our NHS with non-doctor shortcuts. Senior consultants must strike to save standards. Journalists like @BBCHughPym should be backing doctors here, not just reporting the chaos. Public stands with the BMA. 🛑🩺💙

Can’t blame them. I left the UK as a consultant years ago and earn multiples of what my ex UK colleagues earn. Why anybody would put up with whats happening in the NHS now, I don’t know. Know your worth and move overseas. Unfortunately it’s all intentional by the governments…

With government attempts to cut our pay yet again in real terms (continuing decades of pay erosion), and no meaningful negotiation on our now 23 year old contract, this should surprise absolutely nobody.

This is how they will allow PAs (and ACP/ANP/ACCPs) to do anything a doctor can do. Anything. As long as you are 'credentialed' and someone at your local hospital says you can do it, they will be able to do anything

Your @BMALondon calls London NHS employers to come to the negotiating table.
There would be no need for escalation on doctors’ London Weighting, if we can agree a solution early.

It’s a very good question!
I’d love to know exactly how the government/DHSC is interacting (instructing?) the Royal Colleges on this entire issue.
The correspondence would, I suspect, make interesting reading.

London weighting for doctors hasn't changed since 2005. Time to fix that.
Our campaign events start today at St Thomas' Hospital, led by your London reps and BMA staff. Come and say hello.
Check your emails and vote yes in the indicative ballot by November 30th!

We make -progress
2 apologies from 2 organisations received
2 more to go.
You either apologise - or we take it through channels as needed.
And we use everything the system can provide to help- whether it be FTSU, SAR or FOI.
Gaslighting individuals when raising safety concerns needs to stop.
Especially now when every single bit of concern raised- increased referrals, worse support for primary care, patients having lesser care- has now come to pass.
If you want to make allegations- and can't back it up with proof- it's also known as 'Libel'
And we take things forward- as long as it takes.
As I said?
I am grieving but I am still...Partha Kar.
