⚡️ Ukrainian forces continue to achieve the incredible, liberating another 101 km² of territory
Operation Vivaldi has concluded in the Lyman sector.
Russian forces tried to encircle Sloviansk and Kramatorsk — but ended up being forced to retreat themselves.
Ukrainian troops also prevented Russian forces from outflanking the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk area and cutting off the Kharkiv–Sloviansk highway, one of the key supply routes for Ukrainian forces in Donbas.

Considering how widely unpopular Russia and Putin have become in the U.S. across the board, and how relatively popular Zelensky remains, it’s really electorally puzzling that Trump’s October surprise is a new bond with Russia against Ukraine.

The EU has approved a €90 billion loan for 2026, 27, with €60 billion for defence. Europe has the means to keep Ukraine armed even if Washington obstructs.

Your periodic reminder that up to 64% of X accounts are bots, and the algorithm is controlled by a Trump ally with a far-right agenda.

Who knew Ukraine's defenders could even debotify the internet?
Well, I guess we did 😌

There’s a reason many of the individuals responsible for spreading this disinformation were previously banned from Twitter. Some coordinate in private Signal chats to artificially amplify one another’s posts and manipulate the algorithm. Others operate accounts that appear to belong to individual users but are actually controlled by centralized firms running coordinated influence operations. What looks like organic political discourse is, in many cases, a carefully orchestrated effort to manufacture outrage, spread falsehoods, and manipulate public opinion.

🇷🇺 An interesting post by Russian journalist Georgy Bovt about Yandex:
“Then it suddenly emerged that tens of billions of rubles had been spent on internet filtering and blocking online dissent, but somehow no one had bothered to protect data centers against potential attacks by enemy drones.
Not to mention the extreme centralization that has made this infrastructure particularly vulnerable during wartime.
Restoration will require chips that are banned under sanctions. And other components, too. And time. A lot of time.
And this is only the preliminary phase, during the first week of such attacks.
Three data centers have been partially damaged.
According to publicly available information, Yandex has a total of six data centers in five cities.
Building one from scratch costs approximately 6–7 billion rubles.
Repairs are, of course, cheaper, but that raises the question of access to spare parts subject to sanctions.”

Regarding the data center hits in russia. I don't know the damage assessments of these yet. However, as an expert on cloud infrastructure and bare metal server provisioning, I can tell you that this is a significant blow to russian digital infrastructure, which is a backbone of russian economy.
Rebuilding data centers right now not only extremely expensive process due to extreme memory costs, there are also significant lead times on server procurement and networking equipment.
Sometimes you have to wait half a year+ to get a critical high end data center TORs. The competition to buy these is real, russia will have to compete with companies such as Microsoft, Google and AWS. And there are export restrictions as well .
Chinese manufacturers such as inspur also have significant delays.

Ukraine bombed the Russian bot farm right as Americans began receiving their ballots. The timing and targeting were absolute genius.
I am so deeply grateful to Ukraine right now. I’m actually getting emotional about it, and I’m not an emotional person.
This may save my country.

Russian bot traffic has plummeted after Ukrainian drone strikes knocked out Russian tech giant @Yandex’s biggest data centers.
@Cloudflare reports that bot traffic from the Yandex network has dropped to just 0.4% of the maximum number of HTTP requests recorded over the past two weeks.

▸ UPDATE:
Yandex Disk is now eating user data.
After the strikes on their data centers, users across Russia report mass failures in cloud storage. Files are inaccessible.
Some are gone entirely.
The company added drone attacks to its force majeure list on October 9. Now the data loss starts.
Three centers down in a week. Sasovo.
Kaluga. Vladimir.
And Yandex still won't say what happened to the data.
BREAKING
A third Yandex data center is now down after a strike by Ukraine’s Defense Forces, and the outage map reads like a map of Russia’s digital nervous system collapsing.
Yandex Cloud has lost more than 80 core services across its availability zones. Not minor tools.
The infrastructure layer itself.
Compute and network: Compute Cloud, Virtual Private Cloud, Managed Kubernetes, Cloud Functions, load balancers, Cloud DNS.
Data and storage: Object Storage, managed PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, MySQL, Valkey, YDB, OpenSearch.
AI and analytics: YandexGPT API, SpeechKit, Vision OCR, DataLens, SpeechSense, Yandex AI Studio.
Development and security: Managed GitLab, SourceCraft, Identity Hub, Key Management Service, SmartCaptcha, Smart Web Security, SIEM.
Corporate tools: Tracker, Wiki, Forms, Cloud Desktop, Search API, Cloud Console, Billing.
Yandex Home, Yandex Music, and Telemost are also down.
The strategic layer is worse than the outage list. Sasovo hosts two of Yandex’s three supercomputers used to train YandexGPT.
Their status remains unknown. If those machines are damaged, Russia loses the hardware behind its main domestic AI push, along with its cloud capacity.
Moscow built a sovereign digital stack over the years to isolate itself from Western infrastructure. That isolation now means an outside provider cannot absorb the failure.
The cloud is burning, and the replacement is a queue for VK Cloud.

Funny thing: Ukraine takes out Russian data centers and “Zelensky” rises while “genocide” and “Free Palestine” drops off according to X’s Radar analytics page.
Anyone else seeing trends w/🇷🇺 bots muzzled?

Yandex has a bingo card now.
The squares write themselves: data center down, taxi app dead, payment systems offline, cloud services gone, another region without internet.
Three facilities already burned. Sasovo, Kaluga, Vladimir.
Moscow built its sovereign internet over many years. The outages map now updates in real time while the others do not.
Someone made it into a game. The joke lands because the infrastructure keeps losing.

Ukraine's targeting of Russian data centers is exposing the true nature of the online support for not just America's Republican party, anti-Ukraine and secession movements globally, but Germany's AFD as well.
This whole platform is just Russia's plaything, supporting the Russia/Musk/Trump global fascist movement.

Brian Fitzpatrick is moving to kill the Russian diesel deal before it becomes permanent.
The Republican congressman says he will introduce a bipartisan bill blocking all purchases of Russian oil. The name is deliberate: the Ronald Reagan Peace Through Strength Act.
He has committee approval. Fitzpatrick plans to force the bill to the floor through a discharge petition.
That requires 218 signatures, and it bypasses both the committee and the speaker.
The target is clear. OFAC General License 135 lets American companies buy, ship, insure, and unload Russian diesel until April 2027.
Trump called his arrangement with Putin a breakthrough. Fitzpatrick is calling it what it actually is: a hole in the sanctions wall that Congress can close.
In political language, Russian oil covers the full product chain. Diesel included.
The bill is designed to block the entire flow, not just crude.
The discharge petition is the mechanism that matters. If 218 members sign, the vote happens whether leadership wants it or not.
Fitzpatrick is betting the votes exist.
Moscow already moved over 300,000 tons of diesel toward American and global markets. Another 500,000 tons was promised for November.
The waiver legalized everything.
Fitzpatrick wants to make it illegal again.
