Tasers would be an acceptable enforcement
Cyclists are continuing to ride along the newly pedestrianised section of Oxford Street, despite being asked to dismount. Around seven security staff have been stationed near Oxford Circus, calling out to cyclists to get off their bikes, with mixed success. Narrator: "The hippies won"
An oldie but a goodie. In 1968 a bunch of entitled hippy bastards sent a letter detailing their specious demands to the Warden and Fellows of Wadham College, Oxford. This was their letter of reply, which speaks to how far the academy has since fallen.

“What is the charge? Adding wine to my survival kit? A succulent survival kit?"
🚨 NEW: Andy Burnham criticises Angela Rayner for including a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc in her survival kit “I’m not sure that’s the top of the list… You need to have a clear head in a challenging situation. Some tins of food, bottled water. People are allowed a glass or two”

Energy Secretary @Miatsf has agreed that the regulator can grant consent for gas to be produced at the licensed Jackdaw field. Gas from Jackdaw is expected to start reaching British homes and businesses as early as the end of this month.

Two explanations why this UK growth chart gets such an incredulous reaction. First, X is not reality and for some this just doesn't fit their narrative. But second, in the last four years the component of expenditure based GDP that results from government activity is up 12%. The private sector component, just 2%. If you are geared to the latter then real output has been trading sideways.
Fastest rate of UK economic growth for almost four years at 2.1% YoY and a sprightly 0.7% QoQ to the end of August. Construction still firmly in the doldrums (-1.8% YoY) but services, manufacturing, investment & trade all showing decent Q3 momentum.

The girl is on fire 🔥
🚨SEE YOU IN COURT!!! Just filed a federal complaint. I’m taking legal action over my ejection from the @chicagosky game while peacefully exercising my First Amendment rights. My T-shirt did what the whole @WNBA apparently couldn’t: define a woman. No threats. No violence. Just biology. And somehow, that required a security escort. You don’t have to agree with my speech but you don’t get to silence me for it. I will not be intimidated. I will not be silenced. I will continue to stand for women and defend free speech.

This is a sticky result that doesn't move the needle for anyone
As predicted. Zack Polanski humiliated. Labour's % hardly dropped. The % for the Greens barely rose when factoring in Feinstein. Polanski's done.

This is the mad thing The BBC's value was based on public broadcasting but they're destroying the social cohesion fabric for chasing industry/social fads
I’m sorry to say the BBC is committing multiple acts of self-harm. Current senior management do not seem to understand that in the changing media landscape the BBC should still be providing content the commercial sector is unwilling or unable to invest in.

At least he wasn't transported to Australia which only ended in the 1860s
His crime? Stealing celery. This solemn little boy is 11-year-old James Leadbetter, photographed at Wandsworth Prison in 1873. He was sentenced to four days in prison with hard labour and a whipping for stealing celery. It wasn't his first conviction, he had previously received seven days' hard labour for stealing pears. A stark glimpse of how differently Victorian Britain treated children who fell foul of the law. #Victorian #SocialHistory #London #History
