I'm sharing my favorite pieces as the 2023/24 NBA season draws close.
This one received many emails from coaches at all levels, and it was a blast to chat with them about my process!

Random Thought exercise:
How many 1st round picks would the Mavs have to attach to AD for the Lakers to take him back in exchange for Luka?
4? 5? 6?

Epic fail and ripoff by @hornets who won’t have fans seated by halftime for preseason game at Greensboro Coliseum. Thousands are outside waiting, while hundreds are inside waiting, 30 minutes after tipoff. #DidntPayForHalfGame @theobserver #TeamWon21Games
After spending my entire life in basketball, it’s time for a new challenge.
How the lessons I learned in basketball, specifically Coach Roy Williams’ “Thoughts of the Day” from my years at North Carolina shaped my transition.

I demand Bill Belichick & Michael Lombardi
give back 50% of their combined 11.5M annual salary to the citizens of North Carolina.
A simple gesture.
Please use the funds to support public preschool education programs and provide access to vegetables in food deserts across the NC
Big deal in the state of NC!
Schools are underfunded. Especially here in North Carolina.
I have a small favor to ask:
Would you consider donating to my son’s Boosterthon?
The funds raised will go toward much-needed improvements at his school, including a new basketball hoop for the playground! The kids are so excited about.
Every contribution makes a difference!

The best part about this is that Cuban got involved not to protect Ballmer per se, but because he felt that @PabloTorre didn't understand exactly how the ultra-wealthy actually get away with stuff and wanted to show him up.
EXCLUSIVE: Two weeks before Kawhi's first "no-show" payday, the Clippers bailed out Aspiration with a $21M deal signed by the team CFO.
(Yes, @mcuban sent @PabloTorre down this rabbit hole: "He literally described exactly what they did," a source says, "to circumvent the cap.")

I cannot recommend @PabloTorre series on the Clippers enough.
It is truly the pinnacle of clean evidence-backed hard hitting journalism. There isn't a second of clickbait. It starts of as a sports piece and moves into a business piece.
The doubters pretty much use a similar approach of plausible deniability and discrediting people - but he's answered every single question/doubt.
I don't think I have seen anything like this in a while.
Get this guy a pullitzer, emmy, oscar.
