Hey Coaches,
Someday, someone else will have your job.
They’ll sit in your office, wear your gear, and lead the program you once called yours.
That’s not meant to diminish the importance of your work. It’s simply a reminder that we’re all replaceable professionally.
But there are roles in your life that nobody else can fill.
Your children only have one you. Your spouse only has one you.
Don’t become so consumed with being excellent in a role that someone else can eventually fill that you neglect the roles that only you can fulfill.
I’m all for pursuing excellence in your profession.
But just make sure you're bringing that same commitment to the roles that only you can fulfill.

🤔How often are you adding to the volume?

The Bears are having a lot more success to start 2026 with their Outside Dig concept. Here was their preferred way to run it last year: amazon.com/dp/B0GHWZRJLT?ref…

There are more college teams moving back under center. I have seen the same with high schools.
Now that so many teams run the spread, you gain an advantage by getting under center and running the Wing-t, Flexbone, Run and Shoot, or West Coast Offense.

Patrick Mahomes completed all 14 of his play-action attempts for 201 yards and a TD Sunday, tied for the most attempts without an incompletion by any player in the last 20 seasons💯
KC ranks 1st in play-action usage this season (36%) after ranking 13th last season (25%).

An absence of discipline does more to undermine your team than anything your opponent does.

Common across 99% of the bad programs I see:
- Too many exercises
- Too much volume
- No regard for exercise order
- Exercise selection based on nothing
Too much random and disregard for their bodies
Not enough effort to learn the basics

This might be one of Sean McVay’s most revealing quotes ever.
“The lies I told myself were once we win a Super Bowl, I’ll be happy."
Sometimes reaching the mountaintop is what finally teaches you the trophy was never supposed to define you...
There’s more truth to this than most will ever realize.
Championships are great, but they’ll never provide the lasting fulfillment we often believe they will.
