Highly recommended. We have become very good at identifying who is to blame, but much less willing to ask what we can do to make things better. Criticisim is easy, taking responsibility and building something better is much harder. Watch full TED talk: youtu.be/n8V-XiMiV9E – at Vitacura, Chile
The most dangerous sentence in healthcare may be, “We’ve always done it this way.”
In trauma surgery, I’ve learned that saving lives requires more than expertise. It requires the courage to question, the humility to listen, and a culture where everyone feels safe to speak up

Thank you, Dr. Dib! What a journey! – at Macul, Chile
Congratulations to our Transplant and Hepatobiliary research fellow, Dr. Belén Rivera @MBRiveraMD, on graduating with her Master of Public Health (MPH) from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
We are incredibly proud of her achievement and grateful for her contributions to our transplant research program at @BIDMCTransplant @Harvard. A testament to the impact of the Innovative Research Initiative (IRI) Fellowship @IRI_program in developing the next generation of academic surgeon-scientists.

Thank you, Dr. Dib for your mentorship and guidance! It was truly an amazing experience and I am very grateful for the opportunity to be part of building bridges across countries
Grateful to be part of this year’s @AHPBA meeting.
Mentorship was the highlight. From reconnecting with my mentors to seeing our residents and fellows from Boston and Chile presenting at the podium, I could not be more proud @MBRiveraMD @cdsotomayorl
It is a privilege now mentor the next generation of liver and pancreas surgeons. The future is bright, and the bridges between North and Latin America continue to grow.

Happy weekend at BIDMC Transplant.
3 livers perfused simultaneously and transplanted within 24 hours.
Done safely.
Done deliberately.
Machine perfusion lets us choose the timing. We do not fight the clock anymore.
Grateful for an extraordinary team.
The future is now.

Full circle moment ⭕️ Having Dr. Bruno Nervi and Carolina Goic as guest speakers on the Chilean Cancer Law at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and sharing this conversation with my MPH classmates, was very special. Thank you, Dr. Rifat Atun for making this possible!
Thank you, Dr. Dib! #ISLS2025 was a great meeting! – at Toronto, Ontario
Proud of our research fellow Dr. Belén Rivera @MBRiveraMD at the International Society of Liver Surgeons (ISLS) #ISLS2025, showing our experience using simultaneous ICG and intraoperative cholangiogram for safe transection of two ducts in robotic living donor hepatectomy, advancing precision in donor surgery

🇪🇨✨ Incredible week in Ecuador!
Our @BIDMCTransplant @Harvard team joined an @AHPBA -supported outreach mission in Quito — performing four live surgeries, including the first robotic major liver cancer resections and the first robotic living kidney donor surgery ever performed in the country.
All patients are recovering very well and deeply grateful. This collaboration will help strengthen their robotic surgery program and train the next generation of surgeons.
Grateful to the @AHPBA, @IntuitiveSurg, and the Society of Surgeons of Ecuador for all their support.
