If this is the case then the committee isn't good at math. Women got 25% of the DI teams in the tourney (29 of 117), and the Men get 22% of the DI teams in the tourney (16 of 72). If you are going to quote "mathematical formula" as your reasoning, you should be good at math...

It is related to how many schools sponsor the sport. When mens lacrosse last expanded we are already over the numbers allowed. There is a mathematical formula for championship numbers

It just doesn’t make sense on so many different levels. Isn’t this supposed to be the National Championship? How can you have a true champion if all the best teams aren’t there? How many of the 16 Men’s Teams could beat Notre Dame or Duke?
