Don’t be fooled, spacewalks may seem routine, but venturing out into the vacuum of space is very serious business. The entire team will be on high alert to manage the risk, get the tasks done, and keep the crew safe. I’m super excited to see @Astro_Kutryk outside the @Space_Station on his first spacewalk on October 29 with @astro_anil!

After watching one hour of local TV news in NY with all political ads during the commercial breaks, honest question: does this mix of caricatures and political cliches, good and bad, and stock footage move anyone anywhere? What is the ROI on this stuff? And is it declining over time?

But most important, the U.S. and allies must stop the Russian ballistic missiles that are relentlessly killing Ukrainian civilians and wrecking energy facilities and critical infrastructure. Putin’s strategic goal is simple and predictable: break the will of the Ukrainian people before winter. Ballistic missiles are the one thing that only Patriot interceptors can stop. Drones can’t defend against them.

What's actually going on in Ukraine is that russians invaded, occupied us and are mass terrorizing and slaughtering our people so we capitulate and they can eradicate our nation and independence. And we are fighting for our survival. Thank you for the attention on this matter.
What’s actually going on in Ukraine is that there is a massive incentive difference between the elites and the people. The former have grown very rich off the hundreds of billions flowing to Ukraine, while the latter’s children are conscripted to die in trenches.

Caliology is the study of birds' nests. Not the birds. Not the eggs. It's structural engineering, but for things made exclusively out of saliva and trash. Honestly, kind of interesting?

Meet Poppi, the daughter of an Amboseli legend. Her mother, Poppy, the matriarch of the PA2 family, led her herd through devastating droughts and the poaching crisis. Her most recent calf, a little girl, was born in May 2025. Earlier this year, researchers from the Amboseli Trust for Elephants noticed that Poppy had begun to lose weight and seemed low on energy. Our SWT/KWS Amboseli Mobile Vet Unit investigated and continued to monitor her and her youngest calf, who was still entirely dependent on her. On 24th September, Poppy collapsed. Despite the Vet Unit’s best efforts, she died aged 53. It was heartbreaking, but in the wild, living to old age is a privilege. Her family moved on, but her smallest daughter refused to leave her mother’s side. At just over a year old, the calf could not survive without her mother’s milk or her herd’s protection, and now she had neither. The Kenya Wildlife Service rescued her and brought her to our Nairobi Nursery the next day. We named her Poppi, in honour of her mother. You can become part of Poppi’s journey by adopting her. You’ll receive monthly updates as your support helps shepherd her from orphan to wild elephant: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/o… Poppy photos courtesy Amboseli Trust for Elephants

But here’s the question: Can anybody besides Trump pull off this sort of low-down stunt? The body of evidence may be limited, but it’s fairly conclusive: Trump is singular, and his imitators have scant appeal with voters. There’s only one Trump, and if you don’t have Friars Club-level talent, well, you’re Ramaswamy. Or Kari Lake. The list goes on, and they’re all winless.

It simply doesn’t occur to Trump that there could be a moral component to this story, as opposed to merely a strategic one.

From someone who has lived in Ukraine over 30 years (me), this is bullshit. Hundreds of billions didn't flow to Ukraine - Ukraine's oligarchs made their (relatively modest) fortunes by ripping off Ukrainians, not foreigners. Ukrainians are fighting to stop this happening again.

Peace through strength is more than a principle. It is a responsibility—and one that demands action. The Treasury Department’s decision to allow Russian diesel imports undermines the bipartisan law Congress enacted in 2022 to cut off funding for Putin’s war machine. Today, alongside @RepDonBacon and @RepMGP, I introduced the Ronald Reagan Peace Through Strength Act to nullify that waiver, enforce the existing ban, and safeguard critical U.S. intelligence support for Ukraine. Not a single drop of Russian oil should enter the United States while Putin continues his brutal war against Ukraine. We cannot stand with Ukraine while opening our markets to the energy revenues fueling Russia’s aggression. Our message must be unmistakable: America stands with Ukraine. Our laws must be upheld. And aggression must carry a cost greater than its reward. 🔗Read more: fitzpatrick.house.gov/2026/1…

Emergency treatment of a snared lion. It was tourists who first spotted him: a male who should have been in his prime, hobbled by a snare embedded tightly around his left forelimb. Born Free and the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) alerted our nearby Veterinary Unit, which works in the Meru landscape. Our team darted him with anaesthetic and removed the snare right there in the bush. The vet’s prognosis? A good chance of recovery, with continued monitoring to see how he heals. Not every lion we reach can be saved, but we go to each one. Working with KWS, our Vet Teams have attended 252 injured lions to date, from spear wounds to human-wildlife conflict injuries. Your donations make this possible.
