A new leadership? Eugene Debs: “If you are looking for a Moses to lead you out of this capitalist wilderness, you will stay right where you are. I would not lead you into the promised land if I could, because if I led you in, some one else would lead you out.”

This is Lord Rothermere the owner of the Daily Mail. He lives in a massive mansion in the English countryside, but he pays no tax here because he identifies as French. While the Daily Mail is registered in Bermuda and pays no tax anywhere. That is his ‘Patriotism’.

Rupert Lowe and half the right spent weeks calling David Lammy and Kier Starmer corrupt for even looking at the jury system. Same jury system just convicted Tommy Robinson. Suddenly it’s a stitch-up. You don’t care about juries. You care about being permanently aggrieved. Pick a fucking side.

A reminder, When they talk about the national debt, we only paid off the debt for the Napoleonic Wars in 2012, and the debt for the compensation for slave owners in 2016. What politicians tell you about economics is usually bobbins.

As the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal is launched today beware of the ‘Poppy Nazis’. These traitorous pro-Nazi turds slither among us under false colours. They are pissing on the graves of the Allied war dead and monuments. #NeverAgain #PoppyAppeal

We've waited patiently for a plan to end neoliberalism. We won't wait anymore. We need rent controls We need a wealth tax We need *serious* cuts to energy bills Instead it's a few pence off gherkins & a payout which the experts say won't touch the sides on energy bills.

There’s already been an independent review of the evidence by twelve people. We call it a jury.
Tommy Robinson was convicted today on a 10 to 2 jury majority. Like him or not, everyone deserves a fair process. This petition just asks for an independent review of the evidence. Please sign and share 👇 c.org/pmGCGBckkP @TRobinsonNewEra @careovercost

America has a paedophile for president, yaxley lennon would love that, after all he is happy to be associated with sex offenders, wife beaters and paedophiles as long as they are white

Why do Labour always attack young people, pensioners, disabled people? People who didn't cause the mess we're in? Why not take on corporate parasites, energy companies, water companies, private equity, landlords?

Whose side are you on @andyburnham ? US hedge funds or Thames Water households? Why should 16 million people pay an extra £40 on interest alone for a bailout when you can write down Thames Water's debt RIGHT NOW by taking it into special administration? theguardian.com/business/202…

Abolish Tuition Fees. • Students past & present owe £300 billion in student loans • An average of £50,000 per person • Growing at an interest rate of 4-6% a year • Even though people pay on average back £1,200 a year. It is a scam. It is unsustainable.

"But Israel is a democracy!" Exactly. That's the problem. People keep reminding me that Israel is a democracy, as if that should end the argument. It doesn't. If anything, it's why my sympathy is running out. Think of Stalin or Putin. When those regimes attacked their neighbours and committed atrocities, many of us never stopped sympathising with ordinary Russians, because they were victims of the regimes too, being sent to the gulags or the front against their will. A democracy doesn't get that alibi. When a government is freely elected, when the press is free to criticise it, and when the opposition could stand against the war but instead cheers it on, the crimes no longer belong to a regime. They belong to the society that chose them. So whoever came up with "Israel is a democracy" as a defence should have thought harder. The line that would actually earn sympathy is the opposite one: that ordinary Israelis are trapped under a regime that crushes dissent. "We chose this, freely" is not the defence they think it is.

“Those in the West who want to see change in Palestine need to confront the question of how international pressure might alter the political calculations of Israeli voters and leaders. Sanctions, diplomatic isolation, divestment, sports boycotts and travel restrictions are among the measures that could make the continuation of occupation and denial of Palestinian rights carry a tangible cost.” equator.org/articles/israel-…

The banks are having a laugh - £200 Billion over last five years - more than half of that is money we pay them, interest on the cash they hold. We need to cut benefits - to banks. The EU did already, as did Switzerland (famously good at looking after money).

White South Africans did not want to dismantle Apartheid. They overwhelmingly believed in it. They ended up deciding the costs were too great - sanctions, being a pariah state. It will end like that for Israel, too.
The problem isn't Israel - it's Netanyahu, we were told. The Israeli election exposes this total, raging horseshit. New column 👇 zeteo.uk/p/israels-election-…

Hannah Peaker from the @NEF explains that if you equalise capital gains tax with income tax so you tax wealth at the same rate as work, along with sorting out some of the problems with CGT, some estimates say you could raise £19.7 billion a year.

When basic essentials cost more than Universal Credit provides, poverty isn't personal failure. It's built into the system. UBI provides an income floor; UBS cuts essential costs. A safety net that leaves people hungry isn't fit for purpose.
The Joseph Rowntree Foundation calculated that £520 pcm is needed for essentials (single, no disability/illness) Standard UC Allowance for a single adult 25 yrs+ will be £443.21 pcm in 2027 (as per UC Act calcs) ❌ £76.79 pcm short = a week's worth of food, energy & water bills
