Honoring a true hero in Loughborough ❤️ 🐾
A sculpture now stands in memory of Bing, a local war dog who saved lives during World War 2.
Parachuted into Normandy on D-Day, Bing braved enemy fire and extreme danger to protect his fellow soldiers.
Attached to the 13th Parachute Battalion, he saved countless lives by scouting ahead of his unit to detect hidden ambushes, snipers, and minefields before soldiers walked into danger.
His keen senses and night sentry earned him the PDSA Dickin Medal, the animal equivalent of the Victoria Cross. And yes... his owners were fittingly named Mr. and Mrs. Fetch!
