Started reading this book by @MagnusResch last week! 📖💯 Lot of inspiring insights for Artists 3.0, like; tips for better communication, networking is everything, no matter the quality of your art who you know and the way you communicate is more important (in a market perspective). Plus some interessing stuff about the "contemporary" traditional art market, despite some big sales in the news, it is a pretty little 👌🏼 and stagnent market when you think about it (~$60B), because it is concentred on few key players - let's call them the art market cartel - based in NYC, that rules the market with no transparency at all, which opens market manipulations, pump & dump scams, which kills the value and the growth... 📉 While 99,99% of artists are struggling, this market is mostly geographicaly limited to NYC. Also limited in the style of art, it speaks only to NYC elists. And most of all, more than 50% of the market is big sales above $1M, with only 2% of sales bellow $5k 🤯 I only see a dying limited market. Their boat is sinking. Now, can you see the future potential for NFTs of art? We don't need to live in NYC anymore. We don't need to be exhibited in MoMA or Gagosian. We are the future, we don't need them. Let's build an open, decentralized art market and avoid any key players! Let's not reproduce an #NFT art cartel. When the market grows, collectors and artists grows, and artists are able to create timeless masterpieces. Excited for the future! 💪🏼🎨
