Feel it's time to be more open. Making Light came about because of John's kidnap in Syria. John is a journalist. John is my brother. Making Light is my legacy to him, continuing his work to tell stories of people of Syria. Quiet Voices need to be heard too.

The review of Prevent, #Britain's counter-extremism policy, showed alarming amounts of public money going to #Islamist extremists. Worse, £10,000 went to the Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC), an #Iran-aligned group, through the pandemic relief funds. kyleorton.substack.com/p/sha…

Listen to this. I just cannot understand the lack of imagination and concern it takes not to understand why it’s appalling to lock male offenders up with the vulnerable group of women in prison. In the name of “progress” too. Yeah, right.

It was six years ago, and my mate, Pink, had just been told he was going to die. He accepted the news with a grace I can only marvel at, but he said he’d a list of things he’d still like to do.
We sat in a pub one night and read it over. Eight things? Four months? Ok. Deal.

Very sad decision. My (grown) kids and Ive walked & wild camped across Dartmoor several times - doing it gives you an incredible , liberating sense of being part of nature & you notice so much more of its beauty & subtleties when you’re in it for a prolonged time.
