Replying to @TeamYouTube
@TeamYouTube , I’m once again sincerely requesting you to please reinstate my channel’s monetization and restore it to the YouTube Partner Program (YPP).
My channel has been misclassified under the “Misleading Family Content” policy, and I strongly believe this is an error or mistake. I respectfully ask YouTube to acknowledge this possibility and conduct a fair, case-specific human review of my channel.
I have been creating content on this platform for nearly a decade, while consistently making every effort to follow YouTube’s policies. Please review my actual videos, titles, thumbnails, descriptions, and overall content before reaching a final conclusion. I genuinely believe there is no intentional policy violation on my channel.
I have been trying for a long time to get my concerns properly heard, but I still haven’t been able to reach someone who can genuinely review my case.
I’m asking for a fair review, due process, and a chance to defend my work.
Please, @TeamYouTube @YouTubeCreators , reconsider this decision and restore my channel’s monetization. 🙏
After almost 10 years of creating on this platform, I sincerely hope my contribution and commitment as a genuine creator will be respected.
Please give me one fair chance. 🙏

Since @TeamYouTube still refuses to clarify the reason my channel has been demonetized for misleading family content despite my channel age demographics and content focus being overwhelmingly adult (not to mention the dozens of in content warning saying my channel is not for children) I thought I'd repost this
Replying to @TeamYouTube
@TeamYouTube, since I've still been able to get a human response through email, I would like to present my case more formally through here.
I am a college junior and the creator of Tierlistman39--a YouTube channel that has
grown to approximately 40,000 subscribers and more than 5 million views in just eight months.
YouTube recently removed my channel from the YouTube Partner Program and demonetized it
for “misleading family content,” and my appeal was denied.
I am asking for an independent human review by an experienced YPP or policy specialist,
because I believe YouTube has fundamentally misclassified my channel.
Why YouTube Should Take Another Look
Several facts do not appear consistent with the determination that my channel is misleading family content:
My videos are designated “Not Made for Kids,” and my analytics show that my audience is overwhelmingly adults.
My content consists primarily of commentary and humor involving anime, gaming and pop culture. YouTube’s own guidelines as well as COPPA both acknowledge that animated content does not necessarily mean its meant for children and that the key determinant should be the self selection of the creator to mark their content as not for children and disclose the content in this video both of which I have done.
YouTube has misinterpreted animated imagery on my channel before. A GIF of Squidward from SpongeBob was flagged for nudity or sexual content, apparently because the character does not wear pants. After human review, YouTube reversed that decision but only after multiple automated rejected appeals and nearly three weeks of asking for a human review.
Other animation creators have publicly reported receiving the same “misleading family content” determination, and some have had monetization restored after additional review.
Shortly before my demonetization, one of my videos received more than 400,000 views and reached #49 overall on YouTube’s Hyped leaderboard. That video addressed racist content on TikTok and ultimately exposed me to an extraordinary level of attention and harassment including a brigading campaign from a larger creator which is visible within the comments of the video. There was likely a coordinated increase in reports and other concerning signs around Early September to late August
My Audience and Content
My channel does not target young children. My audience analytics show that over 80% of my subscribers or viewers are 18 or older. The overwhelming majority of my viewers are adults.
I understand that audience demographics alone do not determine whether content is directed toward children; however, they are consistent with what I have been saying all along: my content is commentary and humor created for an older audience that happens to use anime, and other animated imagery. This has been reflected in the status of my videos, none of which are marked as for children either personally or by YouTube. In fact they are all explicitly marked as not for kids and contain disclosures regarding whether they contain profanity or other content as I am legally required to disclose.YouTube’s own guidance explains that animated content can be general-audience content and that the presence of animated characters does not automatically make something children's content.
That is why I am concerned that the visual characteristics of my channel may be causing YouTube's systems or reviewers to misunderstand what the channel actually is.
The Hype Leaderboard and the Harassment Campaign
One part of the timeline is particularly important.I posted a video speaking out against racist content on TikTok a few weeks ago. The video received more than 400,000 views and reached #49 overall on YouTube's Hype leaderboard. Under YouTube’s own requirements, videos designated ‘Made for Kids’ are not eligible for the Hyped leaderboard. My video was not only eligible for Hype; it reached #49 overall on the leaderboard. While I understand that Hype eligibility and the YPP ‘misleading family content’ standard are not identical, this makes the later classification of my channel even more difficult for me to understand. Especially since I’ve had multiple videos be hyped to the leaderboard in the past
My video was also amplified by substantially larger creators, including TommyNFG and YXL Salah. As the video traveled well beyond my normal audience, another creator known for posting racist content targeted me and encouraged his followers to do the same. I then received approximately multiple hostile messages in roughly 24 hours, many of whom implicated said creator as the reason. Many were racist, some encouraged harm toward myself.
Shortly thereafter, YouTube demonetized my channel for “misleading family content.” I do not know whether the harassment campaign and my demonetization are connected. I also do not know whether people involved in the harassment campaign reported my videos or my channel to YouTube; however, the timing raises concerns, and I want YouTube to investigate it and find out. Since the people targeting me were willing to send racist messages and emails telling me to kill myself simply because I spoke out against racist content, I think it is entirely reasonable to ask YouTube whether some of those same people also reported my channel or videos which led to their demonetization.
Why This Issue Matters to Me
Earlier this year, I made a video about the online harassment of Black content creators, after a young Black creator died by suicide following online harassment, and I donated money from that video to a mental health organization.
As a young black creator who has themselves struggled with clinical depression and
I believed then, and still believe now, that online harassment can have serious real-world consequences which is why I continue to speak out about it.
One Question I Still Cannot Answer
I’m a Political Science major who hopes to attend law school. One of the things I am being trained to do is look at a rule, examine the evidence and determine whether the evidence actually supports the conclusion. That is what I have been trying to do here. The central question I cannot answer is: What about my channel led YouTube to conclude that I am targeting children or families?
My videos are marked Not Made for Kids. My audience is overwhelmingly adult. YouTube’s own guidance recognizes that animation can be content not for children.
YouTube previously reversed an incorrect classification involving animated imagery on my channel after human review.
And immediately before this happened, one of my videos had reached #49 overall on YouTube’s own Hype leaderboard for emerging YPP creators.
I also find it difficult to understand why, if my channel actually targets young children while exposing them to inappropriate mature content, the appropriate response is to remove my participation in advertising revenue while leaving the allegedly problematic content available to viewers and continuing to serve advertisements on it.
My video explaining this situation received approximately 95,000 views during its first 24 hours. I believe the response reflects a broader concern among creators about whether YouTube’s automated enforcement systems are accurately understanding context.
What I Am Asking @TeamYouTube to Do
I respectfully ask YouTube to:
1. Conduct an independent human review of my channel by an experienced YPP or policy
specialist, specifically examining whether my content actually targets children rather than
inferring a child audience from anime or animated imagery.
2. Explain what specific content on my channel caused YouTube to
classify it as “misleading family content.”
3. Review YouTube's internal records to determine whether my channel experienced an
unusual increase in reports during or immediately after the harassment campaign and, if
so, whether that activity played any role in triggering the review that resulted in my
Demonetization.
I have attached my audience analytics, the prior Squidward enforcement decision and reversal,
screenshots documenting the harassment, information concerning the Hype ranking, my YPP
notices and appeal, and any other information that would assist your team in conducting a
meaningful review.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my request.
Sincerely,
Tierlistman39

YouTube cannot continue demonetizing creators’ channels, especially animators.
We need clear explanations, transparent evidence, or meaningful human review.
We need a proper and fair appeal process to judge our work, not an automated system.
Behind every channel, there are REAL PEOPLE who have put YEARS of hard work, creativity, sleepless nights, investments and their hopes and reams into their channels.
And one automated decision can wipe it all out.
AI should help people and not destroy their livelihoods.
When YouTube’s AI gets it wrong, why are innocent creators the ones paying the price?
Years of work, countless hours, and real income are at stake. Yet creators are left with automated rejections, no clear answers, and no meaningful chance to defend themselves.
We deserve transparency, accountability, genuine human reviews, and the restoration of channels wrongly demonetized.
Creators are people, not disposable accounts.
Who takes responsibility when AI gets it wrong? Who answers for the damage? And what will YouTube do to prevent this from happening again?
@TeamYouTube reinstate all affected channels, including mine.

You have forced my hand to delete 7 Years of hard work. And I did so because I thought I would definetely get my monetization back. This way my other channels would stop being demonetized due to "related channel"
But NO.
3 of my channels are demonetized stil for no valid reason.
I am losing out on more than $10,000 a month from this unfair demonetization.

I am tired for fighting for my monetization. I have been doing it for almost 9 months in the last year.
You already re-monetized me last time.
Restore my monetization again, because if I dont get my monetization soon, I will be suing YouTube for breach of contract, as my demonetization is extremely unfair and I have lost SIGNIFICANT portion of my income in this past year.

YouTube sent another AI rejection
This time there is no excuses, no explanation, nothing...
Just the most generic automated AI response ever.
They took less than 3 hrs to respond.
This is getting so frustrating, I don't know what else I can do.
@TeamYouTube Please, reinstate my channel. I only have 3 videos.
None of them violate any YouTube policy.
None of them have any blood or violence.
None of them contain any sexual themes.
None of them include any kid-related characters.
And all of them have disclaimers that they are not made for kids.
How long does this have to go on for?
I cant afford to not make any money.
I have bills to pay...
People to look out for...
My livelihood has been stripped from me, and the more this goes on, the more damage it does
Reinstate my channel monetization!
So I managed to get an appeal for my channel through talking to support.
I hope @TeamYouTube can do the right thing and give me a proper manual review.
I have made significant changes to the channel.
There are only three videos there. None of which contain "violent or sexual themes". And on top of that, the characters in the videos are not kid friendly, so they are not aimed at children.
I put disclaimers in all my videos and in my channel description. I adjusted my tags and video titles.
NOTHING about my channel is "misleading family content"
Please @TeamYouTube do the right thing, and reinstate my monetization!
What the Fuuuu*****k @TeamYouTube 😡😡😡, please restore his channel monetisation asap !

Hi @TeamYouTube , I’ve repeatedly tried to get my channel, Siru Anime World, reviewed, but I keep receiving copy-paste responses. My channel was rejected from YPP AGAIN for “Misleading Family Content,” but this appears to be a mistake or misunderstanding. There is no such content on my channel, and I have never created or uploaded this type of content. I have only 3 videos left, all original content featuring my own voice-over. After waiting 90 days and making changes, I’m still facing the same issue. Please escalate this case for a proper human review, help resolve this unfair rejection. I deserve a fair review, not another automated decision. 🙏

@TeamYouTube you are STEALING $10,000/month from me.
First I was demonetized for "Reused content"
Complete lie, we use ZERO content from anyone else.
So I made an appeal explaining all of this clearly
Rejected. New reason: “Channel violates other policy.”
This may as well read "We want to take 100% of adsense revenue"
@TeamYouTube are you able to tell me which specific policy this channel is in violation of please? (sent link in PMs)

My channel Reborn Diaries (youtube.com/@reborndiaries) was removed from the YouTube Partner Program on August 19, 2026 for “Misleading Family Content that contains sexual content and violence.”
Key facts:
• 5+ years on the platform
• 141,000 subscribers
• 68+ million views
• Nearly 500 original videos
• Zero Community Guidelines strikes
• Zero copyright claims
• Every video is marked “Not made for kids” / 13+
• Channel description clearly states it is for adult reborn doll collectors
I do not create sexual content. The videos are parenting satire and role-play using artist-made reborn dolls intended for an adult audience. I have contacted support multiple times and only received the same automated replies with no specific video identified.
I am requesting a genuine human review of the channel so the decision can be reconsidered. I am happy to provide any additional information or an appeal video walking through my production process.
Thank you for looking into this.

The day after I got demonetized, my channel had a massive spike in views.
870k Views in one day is a really good accomplishment for me. It would equate to around 300 to 500 Dollars for my channel in one day.
In total, the last 3 months I missed out on anywhere from 4,000 to 8,000 dollars, according to my estimates based on my previous months.
In the last 3 months of being demonetized, my channel had the most views it has EVER had.
12.3 MILLION VIEWS
Long form content too.
And since I was demonetized, I only earned less than 90 dollars.
But YouTube is stil running ads on my videos though.
If they truly believe my content is not suitable for advertisers, why are they stil running ads?
Its because my content did not actually violate any policy.
@TeamYouTube My channel does not contain any "misleading family content". There has been a mistake and I would like to get an internal manual look!
Platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook must improve their AI detection systems. Automatically labeling genuine VFX artistry as AI-generated is unfair to creators who spend hours on their craft. Learn to distinguish human creativity from AI instead of mislabeling hard work!

Thank you for ignoring animation creators like me. YouTube is no longer a safe space for content creators.
Never trust YouTube with the expectation that it will settle your life. Treat YouTube merely as a side hustle or part-time job never depend on it completely.
It can destroy your entire career at any moment without warning, proper help, or clear support, by demonetizing your channel out of nowhere.
If you had such a big problem with my content, why was my channel monetized in the first place?
My first and second videos contained blood, and that was 5 years ago when I knew nothing about YouTube guidelines. If the channel had been rejected back then, my years of hard work wouldn't have been wasted.
This is entirely YouTube's mistake, and you need to accept it.
I will never trust YouTube the way I used to. There is zero guidance from partner managers on what mistakes are actually present in the videos.
Even after waiting 3 long months, all you get is a rejection—without any clear explanation of which specific videos need to be deleted. And then, you are expected to wait another 90 days, continuing to upload videos for free so YouTube can run ads, make money off your content, and give nothing back to the creator.
Please, @TeamYouTube @YouTubeCreators
, reconsider this decision and restore my channel’s monetization.

YouTube has demonetized this creator’s channel under the Misleading Family Content policy, but a serious question remains: how does this policy apply to their actual content?
Their videos feature horror characters like Momo, with horror-themed thumbnails and titles that clearly communicate the genre. The characters, presentation, and overall context are aimed at a mature general audience, not designed to mislead children using familiar family-friendly characters.
If the horror theme is already clear from the thumbnails, titles, and videos, where exactly is the misleading element?
This raises serious concerns about whether the channel was properly reviewed in context or incorrectly flagged by YouTube’s automated systems. We urge YouTube to conduct a thorough human review of the actual content and reconsider this decision based on its context, not just automated classifications.
Please Help:
