Not sure how much more Christians need to see that Trump is no friend of Christians. Meanwhile, Pope Leo has learned from past Vatican experiences with fascists - a true moral and spiritual leader for our times.

BREAKING: Pope Leo XIV declares the Iran War is “unjust” and “is not solving anything.” After suggesting Trump is committing war crimes by targeting civilian infrastructure, he called on Americans to contact Congress to help end the war.

Bondi was awful, but no worse than Patel. Noem was terrible, but no worse than Hegseth. Funny that it’s only the women who get fired.

Surprise! The Jeff Bezos-owned Washington Post is against my 5% billionaire wealth tax. I wonder why? If enacted, Bezos would owe $12 billion in taxes, and an average family of 4 would receive a $12,000 direct payment. Poor Jeff would be left with just $224 billion to survive.

Has a single prominent Trump donor spoken out about the murder? Any of the CEOs of the companies that donated to the new ballroom or the inauguration? Are all of them comfortable being complicit in state violence against citizens?

The biggest obstacle we face as a society in getting people to accept reality about Trump is that it requires people to face reality about themselves and about ourselves as a society.

Pope Leo said in a Christmas Eve sermon that the story of Jesus being born in a stable because there was no room at an inn should remind Christians that refusing to help the poor and strangers today is tantamount to rejecting God himself. For @Reuters reuters.com/world/pope-leo-c…

In 2 days, ACA Open Enrollment begins and SNAP benefits will run out. Millions of Americans will lose their health care and the food they need to survive. Why? So the GOP can pay for billionaire tax cuts.

An essential feature of authoritarianism is that the leader - not courts - decides who is guilty and who is not. Santos - who Trump said is getting a commutation bc he “votes Republican” - is the 10th high profile loyalist to get a pardon or clemency. We cannot accept this.

“Someone who says I’m against abortion but is in favor of the death penalty is not really pro-life,” @Pontifex said. “Someone who says I’m against abortion but I’m in agreement with the inhuman treatment of immigrants in the United States, I don’t know if that’s pro life.” catholicnewsagency.com/news/…

In the last few years we've seen: - The plot to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer - The Storming of the Capitol and pipe bombs left at the RNC and DNC - The break-in to kidnap Nancy Pelosi and the brutal on Paul Pelosi - Multiple assassination attempts against Trump - The assassination of Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband and the shooting of on State Senator John Hoffman and his wife - Luigi Mangione's assassination of Brian Thompson - The assassination of Charlie Kirk Political violence is contagious. It is spreading. It is not confined to one side or belief system. It should terrify us all. The foundation of a free society is the ability to participate in it without fear of violence. Political violence is always an attack against us all. You have to be so blind not to see that.

In baseball these days, "it's all about the drip" as Andrew McCutchen said. That is especially true at the youth level, where the sliding mitt craze is all the rage, even if it's all fashion, no function. apnews.com/article/sliding-m…

So the ol' "What can Democrats do about this?" debate begins. My take: SENATE: Schumer should have someone ask for unanimous consent every day to bring up the Grassley/Cantwell bill to curtail the tariffs. Every single day. Make a big show of it. Do not give Republicans unanimous consent for ANYTHING unless they agree to a vote on Grassley/Cantwell immediately. Even if it means working nights and weekends.
