Injury report played a big role in this loss but so did countless 49ers mistakes. 6-1 headed to the bye week. Flush it and move on.

Look, the 49ers were incredibly short handed. In addition to all the WRs and Bosa, McCaffrey was clearly limited and Upton Stout was active but did not play. A loss isn't terribly surprising. And I would've taken 6-1 headed to the bye to start the year. But, man, that was ugly.

Wow, Brock Purdy's 2nd interception of the day is likely gonna seal this one. The fact that the 49ers had a real chance to win this despite all their mistakes is pretty remarkable. They just dug themselves too big of a hole with turnovers, penalties, and special teams miscues.

And the 49ers are getting the ball back with PLENTY of time left, the two minute warning, and all three timeouts. The clock is NOT an issue at this point. The game is in Brock Purdy's hands. Here we go.

Hell of a drive by the 49ers in a gotta-have-it moment. They go 10 plays for 82 yards in 4:28 of game time. Pineiro's extra point misses, though... Now within a score with 5 minutes left and all 3 timeouts in their back pocket. They can still win this game, somehow.

And another brutal penalty, this time by Jack Jones. 3rd and 8 is a first down. The 49ers deserve to lose this game so far.

Falcons double up at the end of the first half and start of the second half to take a lead. They've scored 16 unanswered points.

Down essentially all your WRs, you lose Christian McCaffrey early in the game, both your other RBs fumble, a WR was targeted just once in the first half, you're on the road in Atlanta...and you're ahead at half? I'll take it. But it's been the sloppiest half of the season.
