As Space Week in Singapore, marked by 17th Global Space Technology Convention & Exhibition, draws to a close, I'm thrilled to share my recent @ChannelNewsAsia interview with @JulieYooCNA and @BusinessTimes article on the state of space tech innovation and investments.
Space is no longer the exclusive playground of powerful governments—private investors and entrepreneurs are now a significant driving force. The ripple effects of space innovation are transforming multiple industries on Earth.
Thus, investing in space is no longer a leap of faith, but a calculated step toward unlocking the next economic frontier, attracting more investors into the field.

Wabi 2.0 is live!
personal agents are one person, one chat. but the parts of life that matter run on more than one person
Wabi is an agent you use together. you talk to it, it does stuff, builds the apps you need, and anyone can join the thread - your partner, your best friend, the preschool moms groupchat
school changes pickup time → Wabi updates the family calendar, everyone sees it.
a show you’d both love → Wabi finds a night that works, gets the tickets.
the trip everyone keeps talking about → Wabi picks the dates, builds the itinerary, books it
go start a thread with your people 👇

Congrats @TomasHalgas and @Lovable, well done! One more portfolio company acquired ✅
Lovable has acquired Sutro.
I went to @antonosika hoping @Lovable would use our technology. It ended up with an offer to acquire the company.
My first useful piece of software was a website I built to help schoolmates with math. Getting it to work felt delightful. Seeing other people use it felt magical. Something I’d imagined was now real and helping someone else.
We spent five years at Sutro bringing that feeling to others. As their ideas grew more ambitious, we took on harder engineering problems. We built our own programming language, compiler and hosting platform to help people create secure and reliable applications.
Now, at Lovable, we get to share that feeling on a scale I could hardly have imagined when I built that math website.
Sutro engineers are joining to help build the Lovable platform. I’m leading technical evangelism, sharing the engineering that makes this possible and helping people see how far they can take their ideas.
I’m proud of what we built. Thank you to the Sutro team, the customers who trusted us, and our investors, especially @EniacVC and @ResoluteVC, for believing in us.
And to Anton, @FabianHedin and everyone at Lovable, thank you for the trust and welcome.
There’s so much more magic to spread. Let’s go!

Spoke on the AI in the Boardroom panel at the Singapore Institute of Directors NRC Seminar yesterday. Thank you Huey Tyng Ooi for the invitation and for moderating, and Howie Lau for sharp comments and a bit of fun. SID is a warm community. Highly recommended

Thrilled to announce @positron_ai's $875M Series C at a $5B valuation!
This round was co-led by @NEA, @Atreidesmgmt (@GavinSBaker), @valor (@AntonioGracias), @AndraCapital, @SemiAnalysis_ Capital (@dylan522p), and Jim Clark (Founder of SGI and Netscape). An incredible group to have backing what we’re building.
Also very happy to have strategic backing from VentureTech Alliance, Hudson River Trading, Cisco Investments, and Naver Ventures, alongside continued support from @Arm , @jumptrading , @dfjgrowth, Qatar Investment Authority, and many more.
What I’m most excited about is what this lets us do next. We’re deploying more than 50 racks of Atlas at @OracleCloud, and this financing funds our next-generation Asimov chip’s tapeout, the production ramp for Titan, and the manufacturing capacity to meet the demand ahead of us.
The goal remains simple: make running AI dramatically cheaper and more energy efficient.
A huge thank you to the entire Positron team, especially @mitesh711 and @kmett, our customers, partners, and investors. Building hardware takes an enormous amount of work, and I couldn’t be more proud of this team. We have a lot ahead of us, and I can’t wait to share more.
Announcing Discovery Loop!
I am very excited to announce that, along with my longtime friends and collaborators @Sanjay_Ghemawat, @OriolVinyalsML and @quocleix, we are founding Discovery Loop (@DiscoLoopAI), a Public Benefit Corporation whose mission is to automate machine learning, science, and engineering to accelerate discoveries and progress. The four of us have worked together for 14 to 30 years, and have helped build some of the world’s most used products, infrastructure and AI models, and we’re excited to turn our attention to this ambitious endeavor.

.@isaiah_p_taylor says Valar Atomics ultimately wants to use its own low-cost electricity to make steel, aluminum, and other products.
"Our long-term vision is to actually have the cheapest energy on earth and to use it for our own things."
"We see a vision of the world where steel is just way cheaper than it is today. Aluminum is way cheaper than it is today. The manipulation of matter is a lot cheaper because you have robotics hooked up to AI that's doing matter manipulation and vision. All these things take energy."
"It'll be interesting to see where we decide to play in the stack. I think we want to be in the business of turning on thousands of reactors, but there will be a couple of massive markets that we attach to."
Ten years after completing IDP at @INSEAD, I returned this June to teach three topics, AI for Boards, Strategy and Boards, and CEO Succession, to two cohorts of sharp directors. Grateful to Professors Shekshnia and Massa for the opportunity #INSEAD #BoardLeadership
Important between approx 4:40-7:30 timestamps: a terawatt for AI is twice all US electricity. The real bottleneck isn't turbines but the cast blades and vanes inside them, made by just three backlogged firms worldwide

Thanks @Gavriel_Cohen. You’re right. I never used an IDE. Claude Code made all edits. No @karpathy ‘vibe coding’. All I did was ‘tool assembly’ to create a utility that worked in my domain!
Singapore's Foreign Minister published the architecture for his "second brain for a diplomat" yesterday. Architecture diagrams, design rationale, the works. A developer-style writeup of his own system.
It runs on a Raspberry Pi. It connects to his WhatsApp and Gmail, transcribes voice notes locally, ingests speeches and articles, and builds up a knowledge graph over time. It answers questions, drafts speeches, condenses information. He says he doesn't dare switch it off.
What @VivianBala built is one-of-one. There's no other setup like it. But what he built it from isn't.
He composed four open-source pieces:
- @NanoClaw_AI , the agent framework: github.com/qwibitai/nanoclaw
- Mnemon, the persistent memory layer: github.com/mnemon-dev/mnemon
- OneCLI, the credential proxy that keeps API keys out of the containers: github.com/onecli/onecli
- The LLM Wiki pattern by Andrej Karpathy, the synthesis approach: teapawt.net/karpathy/status/204047…
None of them are his. The composition is his. And then he published the composition: gist.github.com/VivianBalakr…
He didn't keep it internal as Singapore's edge. He didn't spin it into a product. He didn't gatekeep. He wrote it up and put it on GitHub.
There are tens of thousands of doctors, lawyers, researchers, investors, and operators building one-of-one setups for themselves right now. Some simpler than Vivian's, some more elaborate. The impulse will be to sit on it. Treat it as your edge. Think about what product or company you could spin out of it. Resist that impulse.
Vivian put it directly: "The diplomat who learns to work with AI will have a meaningful edge. I think that edge is now."
The specific thing Vivian composed will be obsolete in months. His real edge isn't the system. It's his ability to build it. Being plugged in, up to speed, able to cut through the noise and connect the right pieces into something that brings real value.
Sharing the blueprint doesn't give that away. It amplifies it.
You become a beacon. Other people working on the same things find you. They share what they're building, suggest improvements, point at things you didn't know existed. You learn faster. You stay in the center of where things are happening. Publishing isn't giving away your edge. It's doubling down on it.
