Our pre game night speaker this week was Steve Lensing ‘77. Steve played on Garrigan’s first playoff team in 1976, fifty years ago. Steve talked about the brotherhood and family of Bishop Garrigan Football and the long standing Tradition that it still holds today! Go Bears!
True American hero!
Medal of Honor recipient Sammy Davis, who inspired the movie, “Forrest Gump,” was given a harmonica by his mother. He would play “Shenandoah” at night in the jungles of Vietnam.
His unit of 42 men took on 1,500 Viet Cong. With a broken back and crushed ribs, he went across a river twice rescuing Americans, and then continued the fight.
Survivors of the Viet Cong unit said they could hear him at night. Recently, we were honored to have him in South Carolina at @woffordcollege. 🇺🇸🗽
Awesome!

Every team has selfish players and selfless players.
The difference shows up when things aren’t going their way.
Do they make it about themselves or the team?
Great cultures put WE > ME.
Selfish or Selfless? Your choice.
Culture WINS 2:

Tonight’s Thursday night speaker was Pat Joyce. Pat is a ‘92 graduate of Emmetsburg and played QB at Emmetsburg. He also happens to be our quarterback Michael Joyce’s dad! Pat had a great story tonight about football and life for the team and how they are so much like the other.

Nearly 70 years after first putting on an Iowa uniform, Tom Moore is still impacting the Hawkeyes to this day.
“Work the hardest, the longest” is Moore’s signature mantra.
After Iowa won on the final play at Michigan, the team made sure to embrace him in the locker room.
