Shared one of my favorite puzzles with students during today's orientation and broke out Jenga, Rush Hour, and Instant Insanity at Open House. Looking forward to incorporating more puzzles and games into class this year!

I may have gone a bit overboard with the theming on today's #Algebra review... but the kids loved it! They had options for general/mixed review or the ability to take a deeper DIVE into a particular skill. (and yes, I did play soothing ocean sounds while they worked 😉)

Stretched our thinking around multiplying and dividing polynomials by playing fill in the blanks! This provided a great lead-in to our discussion on greatest common factor too 🥳

Started reading Mind and Matter by @JohnCUrschel and came across this gem: “Every kid has a little bit of a mathematician in them. All kids know that some things are big and some are small… They ask why, and they want answers.”

Question for @desmos folks / anyone familiar with screen readers: If I upload images of expressions into a card sort, is it better to type the image description as "4x^2 + 28x + 49" or as "4 x squared + 28x + 49"?
