I don't know who needs to hear this, but like, having the objective on the board doesn't guarantee students are aware of the learning.

When it comes to edtech, the focus should always be on using it to improve the learning experience. It's not about using tech for tech's sake, but rather finding ways to incorporate it in ways that enrich the educational journey.

Sometimes I think I'm bad at my job as an instructional tech coach when people are like, "How can I integrate technology into this activity more?" and I'm just like, "Maybe don't?"
Tech opens some really cool doors, but not all of those doors benefit focus or learning.

Along with teaching, I am also a student. I use ChatGPT to transform my notes into mc questions organized into rows/columns to copy/paste to a spreadsheet, which I upload to Quizizz or Kahoot. The images show this process that takes minutes. My peers ❤️ me for this! #MyAIProcess

Feeling stressed? I created a "Self Care September" challenge to help anyone who works in a school (or anyone who breathes, tbh) to learn small, practical ways to take care of themselves. Give it a try!

Love this “bad drawing”. It’s a mindset I hope to convey to students. I stopped memorizing formulas a long time ago. It’s made all the difference.

@desmosclassroom tip during a #polygraph . As you see vocab words being used, write them on the board and don't define them. See if other students use them appropriately, then debrief at the end. #iteachmath #mydesmosclassroom

It's been an unbelievable journey. We didn't just hear your support, we felt it. None of this would have been possible without you.
Thank you for everything.

Wanna play a game?
It’s called “Break Up 25”
It goes like this…break 25 up into some (positive) numbers that add to 25.
10+10+5 = 25
Change the + to *
10*10*5 = 500
That’s my score.
Can you beat my score?

I used to think the volume of the classroom dictated the quality of the teacher. I now know learning can be loud and can be messy. Loud classrooms aren’t necessarily managed poorly and quiet ones don’t always indicate learning is happening. – at Essex, Ontario

Educators, I know there’s lots of planning and excitement for the new school year. It’s not to early to analyze self care habits/routines..Are we eating? Skipping meals for meetings is a setup. We taking breaks? Sleeping? Let’s not just survive. We have to be well to thrive.
