❤️💙 Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding: "...I feel like this is the first place I've ever been and the first job that I've ever had that I knew I was where I'm supposed to be. And it's not based on the job...it's not based on the money. When we made the decision to come over here for my three kids, I knew I'm gonna be in Oxford. There's a peace, I don't care what you do...if you know where you're going to be and where you're supposed to be, the investment is different....everything about it."

I had a great time stopping by two Jackson staples: Offbeat, a cool local record shop, and Marshall’s Music & Bookstore, the oldest Black-owned bookstore in the country. Of course I left with a new record for my wife and picked up a book for my daughters. Small businesses are a source of pride in our communities and a big part of what makes Mississippi special. In the U.S. Senate, I’ll work to make sure our entrepreneurs and small business owners have the support and resources they need to keep our local economies thriving.

"Delegate. Be open to new ideas. Prioritize player tendencies and preferences over system. These are some of Boynton’s adjustments as he succeeds May and tries to keep the Wolverines atop the sport" "I didn’t do a good enough job of empowering my staff (at Oklahoma State)"
"If you find guys who are good at something, let them be really good at that.” Spent some time with Mike Boynton's Wolverines as he looks to keep them atop college basketball and cement himself as the long-term successor to Dusty May. Free to read. nytimes.com/athletic/7757050…

This is, on balance, good news for the Church. Maybe the American people won't associate Christianity as much with the right as they do. Good. The Gospel should not be tied to any political party.
One of the more exciting parts of this election - among many - is the return of a religious left.

“Faith over fear,” they kept saying. “God is in control,” they kept saying. But they had a faith so weak and afraid that when they were no longer in control, their faith was exposed as fake and shriveled and idolatrous—exactly who they are.
Senior Advisor to Ken Paxton says “our churches, Christianity—it’s all gone” after the blue wave last night. If you think Christianity is gone because of these election results, then you weren’t worshipping Jesus… you were worshipping the Republican Party.

Mississippi is one of the most beautiful places on earth with some of the best people you’ll ever meet and it’s criminal how it never gets its flowers nationally
Whatever the final number is, Mississippi showed the whole country we're not sitting this one out. The Sip has something to say!

Steve Kerr says Gregg Popovich was so good at delivering bad news that he could bench you and somehow make you feel good about it “Gregg Popovich was the best I’ve ever seen at delivering a bad message in a really good way. He took me out of the rotation as a player one time, and it was all very matter-of-fact, but I knew how much he cared about me. The way you deliver a message, I’ve never seen anybody as powerful as him, because he could tell you you’re being demoted but make you feel good about it.” “The way he would do it was with genuine compassion. ‘Hey, I know this is tough, but we’re going to take you out of the rotation. You stay with it, and here’s why.’ The clarity is really important. It can’t be, ‘Hey, just keep your head up. You’ll be fine.’ It’s got to be, ‘Here’s why. I’m going to play him because we need somebody to do this right now.’” “He would do it in a way that could also really be jarring, make you realize, ‘I’ve got to be better. My approach has to be better. My attitude has to be better.’” “And I realized then that coaching is not just encouraging and saying, ‘Hey, you know…’ You have to be honest with people at difficult times. But the way you deliver the message is everything. I’ve prided myself on that skill that Gregg Popovich showed me.”

Wembanyama’s line that he can’t tell you what it’s like to live in America because his existence is so privileged and unusual is one of the more refreshing athlete answers I’ve seen.
“Life is so short, I don't-- I don't even want to waste it being somebody else, you know? Simple as that,” says Victor Wembanyama after a blood clot in his shoulder ended his second NBA season early. cbsn.ws/4A0ospk
