Excited to share my latest (and first solo) piece is available in @JPART1991! Using traffic stop data from two states, hundreds of departments, and thousands of officers, I show that only removing “bad apples” does little to reduce disparities but a simple policy change may.

Excited that my paper with @leahchristiani (& our twitterless coauthors) in @PSJ_Editor is out! The paper examines whether municipal reliance on fines, fees, and forfeitures and which drivers are searched by the police are linked. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/… (1/4)

A flawed study on racial bias in policing has been retracted. Some claim the retraction is political. It is not. Over 800 scholars endorsed this letter explaining the fundamental scientific errors. @dean_c_knox medium.com/@jon.mummolo/prom…

Another great Monday! My paper “Using Motion Detection to Measure Social Polarization...” is now forthcoming @polanalysis! Using frame differencing + largest collection of @cspan videos every compiled, I show Dems and Reps are increasingly less likely to mingle after floor votes.

Very few ppl realize this, but the term “natural log” is just marketing. It was invented in the 1990s to capitalize on the burgeoning market for more ecologically conscious inverse functions. But it isn’t “greener” than any other logarithm.
