A new ecosystem comes to Congress! This could mean a check on efforts to weaken the laws that protect our most vulnerable species and wild places but make no mistake; serious threats to wildlife remain.
While one election won’t change everything, it can change what is possible!

Completely blind, Bhola spent years begging on the streets, where he faced harsh treatment, constant restraint and extreme weather. Sixteen years ago, he was struck by a speeding truck while being illegally transported and left severely injured. Wildlife SOS rescued him and brought him to our centre, where he received the treatment and care he needed.
Today, Bhola’s days look very different!
He loves exploring his enclosure, discovering treats hidden by his caregivers and spending time with his favourite enrichments. And if you happen to be around early in the morning, you might hear quite a racket! That’s usually Bhola, busy kicking his tyre around, picking it up with his trunk and giving it a good smash against the ground. It’s hard not to smile watching him have so much fun. After everything he has been through, seeing Bhola play with such enthusiasm and enjoy these little moments feels all the more special. It’s as though he’s finally getting to enjoy the carefree, playful moments every elephant deserves.
Here’s to 16 years of freedom, care and countless happier moments. Happy 16th Rescueversary, Bhola! 🐘💚

EPA Caught Lying for a Decade About PFAS “Forever Chemicals” : The EPA has claimed for a decade that two of the most studied and dangerous PFAS "Forever Chemicals," PFOA and PFOS, were voluntarily phased out by industry in 2015.
Both chemicals are carcinogens and the EPA has determined that there is no safe level of PFOA or PFOS in drinking water. But very recently, the EPA has walked back the "phased out" claim and revised public statements. That's because those chemicals weren't phased out after all.
The EPA is, and has been, allowing Texas-based company Inhance to produce plastic containers from which PFOA has been found to leach at high levels into the containers’ contents. The EPA only made the admittance after a complaint was filed by the nonprofit PEER.
The containers present an “ongoing and serious threat to public health,” said Kyla Bennett, a former EPA scientist who is now science policy director with PEER.
It's maddening, but not unsurprising, to find out that the EPA has been duping Americans for a decade. Don't put your trust in "voluntary" corporate commitments.

When air quality monitoring revealed a chemical plant in Louisiana was emitting 400x the exposure limit near an elementary school, community member and advocate Robert Taylor, Jr realized just how big of a problem his community was facing and jumped into action. The plant he refers to here suspended operations in 2025, but countless other polluting petrochemical facilities continue to line the Mississippi River, spewing hazardous air toxics in local communities.

Trees don’t just fight climate change.
They invent the weather, bank the carbon, and still somehow make the air free.
We’re out here building billion-dollar machines to do what a seed figured out for free.
