NEW: Trump’s team is plotting to declare a fake national emergency to hijack elections.
One top operative says they can “take steps without Congress” and “mandate" election rules for states.
@NYTimes' investigation exposes the operatives and the takeover already underway. ⬇️

#TX34 is on the border (and plenty of people who work for ICE). Many people flipped to Trump in 2024 because of the economy and immigration. The fact Democrats feel comfortable going after ICE here shows just how much the vibe shifted among Latinos in Texas.
New ad from Democrats' House Majority PAC hitting Republican Eric Flores in #TX34:
"When one of our own like Eric Flores sells out, supporting ICE raids that separate families ... well, that pisses us off. Eric Flores forgot who he is and where he comes from. We don't forget."

HAPPENING NOW: A 9th Circuit panel (with 2 Trump appointees and 1 Biden appointee) seems overwhelmingly inclined to side with California and shoot down the Justice Department's bid to force California to segregate 20,000 ballots it has identified as likely noncitizens.

Adam Hamilton on transgender rights:
“I don’t think we should take a small group of people and bully them, pick on them, and hurt them. I understand one thing really clearly when it comes to transgender people, and that is Jesus told me I was to love my neighbor as I love myself.”
“I’m gonna love the trans person as well as the straight person, male or female. We have to do better than picking on small groups. What’s happened is we’ve turned a group of people into a campaign issue because it polls well.”

🚨 Louisiana, keep showing UP!
More than 95,000 Black voters have already cast their ballots, nearly matching the entire 2022 early voting total in just a few days.
That’s the power of showing up. But we cannot let up now.

Louisiana has now crossed 295,000 early votes, including 95,000 Black voters.
Black voters are accounting for roughly 32–33% of early turnout statewide, closely matching our share of Louisiana’s population.
Orleans Parish leads with 14,880 Black early voters, followed by East Baton Rouge with 12,703. Democrats have also cast more early ballots than Republicans statewide, 124,000 to 121,000.
There are still 837,000 registered Black voters statewide who haven’t voted early, and early voting continues through October 27.
Voting is a group project. I’ve done my part today. Check your parish numbers, make your voting plan, and encourage others to participate.
