Nuclear EO is a bright spot to end an otherwise rough policy week for zero carbon electricity with its 18 month licensing shot clock and science based radiation limit mandate. Guessing the latter will address ALARA and linear no threshold standards.
Easy to root for @DOGE to reduce spending after filing taxes, especially if you write a check vs. collect a "refund."
Speaking of refunds, maybe we should reconsider the Current Tax Payment Act of 1943, which was the start of paycheck witholding.
Taxpayers would apply more scrutiny to government spending if they had to write a big check annually vs. a slow drip of tax payments.
Electric match - Hendrickson scored the only takedown Steveson gave up all season in the last 20 seconds of the national final!
Strong signaling value - I’ve seen a version of this take twice from @tferriss pod guests in 2025, first from @BoydVarty and then from @sacca tim.blog/2025/01/23/chris-sa…
USAID is $40B out of a $7T budget. Imagine the response when @DOGE starts on entitlement spending.

Cutting waste is not a partisan idea.

Tesla makes over 550,000 vehicles in Fremont in my district & employs over 20,000. Let's not play politics with keeping manufacturing in California. It would be foolish to exclude Tesla. Have we learned nothing from snubbing @elonmusk at the Biden EV summit?
Federal spending is out of control. Funding a $2T deficit with debt while current interest payments are at $1T (20% of tax revenues) is crazy. The country needs @DOGE

New @elonmusk bio is a great read. One of my favorite takeaways is The Algorithm:
1. Question every requirement
2. Delete any part or process you can
3. Simplify and optimize
4. Speed up cycle time
5. Automate
In order. Don’t do 3-5 on a process or part that shouldn’t exist
ATL airport round 2 today. Would be cool if @LinkedIn had a FourSquare-like feature specifically for airports.

"Mastery requires lots of practice. But the more you practice something, the more boring and routine it becomes. Thus, an essential component of mastery is the ability to maintain your enthusiasm. The master continues to find the fundamentals interesting."

Makes me think, “what do you like doing that others find tedious.” A spin on the advice, “what comes easy for you that others find hard.”
