Actually sod this. Social media - while still being great for being "up to date" - has been increasingly stressful and frustrating to me. So going on a Twitter Break for a few days, or a few weeks. Or however long. Until I say differently / delete this tweet. U all be well folks.

Today we went and presented to @AklCouncil with our @all_aboard_akl allies about the urgency needed to decarbonise Auckland's transport by 2030. Here's how it went down: stuff.co.nz/environment/clim…

It's getting rather dry again folks... thankfully the huge amount of rainwater tankage we put in last year means we can give our trees a bit of a top up every week. Mandatory for the wee ones and still appreciated by the big ones like these too...

Hi @inkarnaterpg - is there a way to apply a texture on top of a stamp? I'd like to give some roofs and stuff a dusting of the snow texture but it doesn't seem possible? An option to add?
Project "confusing the mailman" is going well this long weekend.

Whoa! This is going to end up expensive for whoever ends up having to pay the piper...

Some good news last week - after we raised safety concerns w a proposed new traffic signal at Makora & Triangle Roads in Massey (plan below) and met with AT about it - AT have now confirmed that the new signal will be on a raised table to slow down dangerous turns in particular!

An 80% reduction in fatalities from low cost safety measures. Doing this all over the country is far more effective, faster and cheaper than a handful of 4-lane expressways. Thanks @JulieAnneGenter for pushing for this last term. i.stuff.co.nz/national/30021…

There are some undulations in the Tamaki Drive cycleway surface. As the cycleway looked complete and the defect didn’t create a safety issue we opened it over the holidays. The contractor will fix this at no additional cost and we will let you know when dates have been confirmed.

"I won't use [new off-road cycleway] because at intersections it takes so much longer than staying on-road." That's 50% bad intersection design and 50% bad signal phasing prioritising cars. We could change the 2nd nearly overnight but it may actually be the one to take longer...

Example is sort of a 3rd option between bad & good signals - a good roundabout with priority for active modes. Sadly, on many AKL roads we are trying to pump so many cars through, a single lane roundabout is considered to not provide enough "capacity"...

Hi @nzpost - can you please tell your delivery people NOT to drive their Paxter delivery vehicles at 25+ kilometres an hour (dowhill) the footpath? Right past doorways and driveways? You could kill a pedestrian stepping out with that. 16:30 today, Ladies Mile Remuera, Auckland.
