THIS GUY BUILT A REAL JARVIS IN ONE EVENING. HIS STACK: A $140 USED DELL SERVER AND $5 A MONTH FOR ELECTRICITY, THAT'S ALL. IT DOES 90% OF HIS WORK WHILE HE SLEEPS.
It runs on his homelab, not his laptop: an old Dell, a cheap switch, a firewall he never even plugged in. He installed the server software yesterday and is still poking around in it. The box never shuts down.
The whole build is one file, jarvis.py, three parts. A free library listens for "Hey Jarvis" without sending a byte anywhere. Whisper turns the next five seconds into text on the same machine. Claude thinks. Microsoft's free neural voices answer.
The movie voice everyone assumes is hard is two settings: slow it 8 percent, drop the pitch 6Hz. The rest is six lines of persona: calm, one breath, no filler, report results, not intentions.
While he sleeps the Dell sorts his inbox into three piles and writes a two-line draft for everything that needs an answer. It reads what he saved during the day, pulls the strongest quote, files it next to his old notes. It watches three prices and one keyword and pings his phone only when something moves. He wakes up, approves four drafts, done in seven minutes.
He pays for one thing: the thinking. The ears and the voice are free and never leave the room. Claude bills pennies per exchange because JARVIS answers short. $10 of credit lasts two months.
Tony Stark's version cost billions and a lab. This one took one evening and worked the whole night on a Dell somebody wrote off.

the harder part is figuring out how to organize those agents in a way that actually makes sense.
instead of building complicated workflows with dozens of connected nodes, this project treats your ai system like a real company.
every agent has a specific job.
every job reports to a manager.
instead of talking to every agent yourself, you only communicate with the manager, who delegates tasks to the right agents and brings the results back to you.
just like a real business.
that's exactly how alook works.
each agent runs in its own claude code, codex, or opencode session.
every agent has a clearly defined role and its own email inbox.
they communicate with each other through email while everything runs locally on your own machine.
your data stays on your computer.
nothing is sent to someone else's servers.
here's a simple example.

another researches companies and finds qualified leads.
another writes outreach emails, handles replies, follows up with prospects, and reports the results.
