It's not a line.
It's a measurement.
A measurement of commitment.
A measurement of sacrifice.
A measurement of discipline.
A measurement of integrity.
A measurement of fortitude.
A measurement of effort.
How do you measure up to 'the line'?

Your self-talk is the most important conversation you have..
- "You got this, remember all the work put in"
- "I'm better than that, next time I got it"
- "I can't wait until next at bat"
- "Trust the work, I'm ready"

Standards Matter.
Standards are about “how” you do things.
- How you practice
- How you compete
- How you show up
UCONNs standards are why they win.

“It’s exciting when you win and it’s exciting when you lose because the process should be exactly the same whether you win or lose. You go back and find things that you could have done better. The hardest thing is to face that stuff. It’s a really tough challenge,” Kobe Bryant

Hitters: Your at-bat starts WAY before you get in the box (really it starts the night before with you prioritizing sleep).
- Let’s start with while on deck. Here you should act like you’re in the box and really be intentional with your breath, focus, and timing.
- When walking to the plate, it doesn’t matter if you’re 10 for your last 15 or 0 for your last 15, carry the bat with the barrel and walk up to the plate with big, powerful body language.
- Have a set pre-pitch routine that you do every single pitch. The 10-15 seconds in between pitches are more important than the pitch itself, and a pre-pitch routine is how you win that time. Taking control of your breath and self-talk is HUGE here.
Do all of this on a consistent basis and I guarantee you will have way more quality at-bats.

"If your body language is bad, you'll never get into the game ... I'd rather lose than watch kids play the way some kids play.
They're always thinking about themselves. Me, me, me ... When I watch game film, I'm checking what's going on the bench."

“I've never played on a championship team that didn't pay attention to detail.
There's no if, ands, or buts about it.
You have to."
Great players know that there are no little things.
It's in those small details that we find the margins that separate good from great.
