I genuinely don’t understand how we are supposed to casually process that a glacier literally collapsed in Nepal, erasing 19 bridges and killing over 600 people, because the planet is too hot. And instead of stopping it, billionaires are building more data centres. Psychotic!

I love that these people don't realize that they are just discussing Walmart's strategy.
This is COMMUNISM.
We have history to show exactly what will happen:
1) Gov opens subsidized grocery stores at 30% below cost.
2) Local stores can’t compete and go under. The city store becomes the only option.
3) Shelves go empty. Rationing starts (“2 per customer”). There will be daily rushes, hoarding, and lines around the block.
4) Quality quietly tanks. Wilted produce, thinner cuts, fewer choices.
5) The subsidy bill balloons forever.
You didn’t solve hunger. You just built another Soviet bread line.

I wrote about how establishment Dems fuming over the Mamdani/DSA insurgency don’t have a coherent theory of where the leftists belongs in their coalition -- they actually just want to disenfranchise them.

Israel publicly declared - again - that Gaza will be emptied of Palestinians.
Where are the front page headlines?
Where are the denunciations from Western politicians?
There's none - because it's not the "inflammatory" words of some activist opposed to genocide.

I understand it can be hard for readers halfway around the world to absorb headlines like this over & over. Fatigue for stories of faraway grief is natural.
But every one of these families is shattered, possibly beyond repair. Please do read what my colleagues are documenting.

For people who say it couldn't be predicted that the Iran war would be this consequential for the global economy, watch this 2012 video of former National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski 👇
He predicts what did in fact happen: "[Iran] can hurt us a lot... Can you imagine what the consequences would be for us if [...] Iraq was massively destabilized, if Bahrain was set on fire, if the North-Eastern oil fields in Saudi Arabia were attacked... The consequences, the costs would be cumulative... The global economy would be affected so we're playing with fire here."
All of this happened.
Which goes to show that the US government has been acutely aware for decades of how globally destructive a war on Iran would be for all of us (including on America itself and on its Gulf allies): when Trump says that “nobody” expected Iran to retaliate by targeting US allies in the region (reuters.com/world/middle-eas…), it's a bold-faced lie.
So the real question is rather: if you know something will set the world on fire, and you do it anyway, and the consequences unfold exactly as predicted - at what point does the rest of the world stop looking at Washington as a fireman and start reckoning with the fact that they're dealing with an arsonist?

One of the countries mentioned in this article has, in the past year, bombed 7 countries, kidnapped one country's leader, assassinated another, & is blockading a third as we speak.
Surprising it is not included among the list of so-called "rogue states."
Since the 1990s, US presidents have largely succeeded in hunting down and eliminating rogue states. Donald Trump has the opportunity to finish them off. My latest in The Wall Street Journal. wsj.com/opinion/twilight-of-…

This war is unconstitutional, and it’s ridiculous that this one individual can sit there and threaten to bomb Iran’s power plants, a move that will cause Iran to retaliate in kind (or more) across the region. What happened to the rule of law? Congress? Courts? Democracy?
