The Medium editor now supports alt text. Writers can add alt text to their images that serves as brief description of the image for readers with visual impairments.

It is always the author's decision to make a story eligible to be part of the Medium paywall. When publishing a story, authors are presented with a checkbox that lets them choose whether they're interested in having their story distributed behind the paywall.
2
If you're not interested in having your stories distributed in topics on Medium and placed behind the paywall, disable distribution eligibility by leaving the box unchecked during the publish flow. More on our distribution system here: help.medium.com/hc/en-us/art…

Hi Bree, thanks for reaching out! Bookmarking an article should make the bookmark icon go from empty to filled. If you see the icon as empty, that would mean the article hasn't been bookmarked.

Ah, that's bad! If that's not working, can you go to Medium.com, click "A Medium Corporation [US]" on the left side of the address bar and check if the option might be hiding there? "Pop-ups and redirects" should be set to "Allow" (see screenshot).
