You all need to understand that there is a well-funded movement to kill Wikipedia as an institution. The dream of an internet that provided universal access to knowledge was a mirage. It threatened too many powerful people, so now we have AI summaries and illiteracy.
Can we also talk about how Wikipedia entries are no longer at the top of a search 😭

We have always had important, strong strategic relations with the United States of America. Our bilateral relationship began developing particularly actively during the full-scale war. I am grateful for all the support. But we have always built our relationship on honesty, fairness, and, most importantly, transparency. Because when you lie while your people are at war, it is very painful. That is why I have always wanted to hide nothing and never lie to the President of the United States. In any case, we have more in common than America does with Russia. Most people in Ukraine and the United States of America understand this. We would like to continue having the same open, honest, and pragmatic relations with America that we have today. The position is very simple. We support a mutual energy ceasefire. If we are talking about the idea that we should not strike back at Russian energy facilities after they strike our gas, electricity, oil – everything. The Russians are striking. America cannot stop them. Let's believe that America really wants to, but cannot. Then, as a partner, I am willing to meet President Trump halfway: if they strike us and we cannot strike back – that is neither honest nor fair – but if this is what you need, if you cannot rein Putin in, then give us interceptor missiles so I can protect our energy infrastructure. You couldn't stop Putin – but you helped Ukraine. From an interview with Corriere della Sera. (2/3)

On the *same day* the Cornell Seven drugged and raped Jane Doe, Cornell banned four students (including the President of Cornell @jvplive) from campus for three years for nonviolent, pro-Palestine protests. The same @Cornell officials let the rapists off with apology essays.
HOW DID A UNIVERSITY SUSPEND PROTESTORS AND NOT ALL 7 OF THE GUYS WHO ÐRUGGED AND R@PED A GIRL FOR HOURS AND HOURS!?!? JUST WOW

A PSA: do NOT download the White House app. It is doing something very weird with the sandbox permissions you give it. Which I’m not sure yet, but is likely against every service term and developer agreement on earth. I downloaded it so you don’t have to onto an air gapped old iPad. It is phoning home, asking for way too much personal data, and attempting to bypass location services permissions. Aside from the propaganda, it’s a security nightmare.

In high school: Why do I need biology, chemistry, and physics? I'll never use this stuff in real life. Twenty years later: Vaccines are a conspiracy. GMOs are poison. I've done my research. Science isn't about memorizing facts. It's about learning to tell facts from nonsense.

1. Elon Musk is spending millions pushing Americans to VoteSafe, which bills itself as a voter registration site but is actually a digital surveillance machine.

Put August 12 in your phone now. Genuinely. Before sunrise, six planets spread across the sky. Afternoon, the eclipse. After dark, the Perseids Meteor shower. Four events on one day, NASA says, and the new moon that same date keeps the sky dark enough to actually see the meteors. You don't need a telescope for most of it. A field, a coat, and twenty minutes for your eyes to adjust.

Not happy of demonetizing me, X wanted to be sure that I would disappear for good. Look at the last days. Next step will be suspension. This is a Soviet method, I'm sorry: there are no excuses for treating like this a person who worked for the platform for 12 years NONSTOP.

A remarkable thing about this moment in history is the disastrous scenario we find ourselves in was largely motivated by the hilarious idea that these people are part of a superior race. Miller says “leftists” are “deformed” & “abnormal” and “filled with feelings of inadequacy.”
ICYMI, the reason @StephenM’s language is so blatantly derived from Goebbels is that he has studied & imitated him to the point they are stone-cold doppelgängers.
