We at American Dad! have so much gratitude and love for Patrick Stewart. He said how happy he was to do American Dad! because he was so rarely asked to do comedy, which is insane, as his ability to get the laugh was uncanny. Thank you, Sir, for sharing your joyful spirit, inspiring voice, and willingness to be ridiculous. You turned Avery Bullock, Deputy Director of the CIA, into someone the world loved and couldn't get enough of. We will miss you.

Patrick was one of those icons who we somehow all took for granted would always be with us.
I grew up as a fan, and was later gifted the privilege of becoming a colleague and friend, working with him for many years on “American Dad!”, “Family Guy”, and “Ted”. He was that rare actor who could take any bit of dialogue and elevate it, making a good writer sound great, and a great writer sound masterful. He was also as humble as they come. I remember exchanging emails with him a number of years ago when he was beginning day 1 of a new film. He commented to me that he always walked onto a new set feeling like the biggest novice there. My stunned reaction was the same as anyone’s would be. I said, “Patrick, if you feel that way, the rest of us are screwed.” We have lost a legendary actor today, and for many of us, a good friend. He will be deeply missed by the entire planet.

In 1993, Nirvana spent Halloween night in Akron, Ohio. Things got weird.
Kurt Cobain dressed up as Barney for the In Utero Tour stop on Halloween night at the University of Akron. He and the band came out in full costume, and Cobain had a bottle of Jack Daniel’s in hand.
Cobain reportedly drank the Jack Daniel’s through the mask’s mouth opening. Later in the show, he came out with fairy wings and a black moustache drawn on his face.
Pat Smear was dressed up as Slash, Dave Grohl (not pictured) was a mummy, and Krist Novoselic painted his face white as "reverse Ted Danson" with "PC" (politcally correct) written on his forehead. Danson had recently drawn backlash for making a public appearance in blackface during a roast of his then-girlfriend Whoopi Goldberg.
At one point in the show, someone threw a shoe at Cobain. He allegedly pissed in it, then asked who it belonged to. The owner of the shoe said it was thrown on stage by another audience member. Cobain apologized and said he'd buy them a new pair of shoes.
Tickets were $18.50, and they didn’t perform “Smells Like Teen Spirit” that night. This ended up being Nirvana's final performance in the state of Ohio.
