Progress on race in policing remains word salad, let’s be honest: conversation alone isn’t change.
Resistance from many police SLTs blocked progress, undermining staff, officers, and the communities, policing is meant to serve. Accountability must move beyond goodwill to action!
After 5 years scrutinising the Police Race Action Plan, we're publishing our final report today.
Progress has been made, but it's been uneven, fragile, and far too dependent on individual goodwill rather than structural accountability.

The reps sell officers down the river over and over!! I’ve spoken about this continuously, we all understand not all reps are bad. Although I believe only a fraction know what they’re doing and care. Choice is definitely needed and I commend you for your efforts Lee

If we’re going to beat the racists, we have to show up for each other. Speak out when someone is abused. Challenge discrimination wherever it happens. Solidarity means action. Yesterday in Parliament I called on us all to do our part.

The key difference between the calibre of individuals being discussed here is, to most, is blatantly obvious.
Yes there was some difference of opinion and approach during the pension challenge years, but those I’m working with now had their eyes opened to the deception and deceit of some of those ‘leading’ the organisation into its proposed ‘new era.’ As opposed to acquiescing to everything that was and is now being pushed, they challenged, only to find themselves ostracised.
I have absolutely no issue working with people who have disagreed or in some instances, continue to disagree with me. In fact, I often find that it’s that disagreement which strengthens the argument and shapes the approach. Lincoln’s team of rivals so to speak. Sadley, there are many weak ‘leaders’ on PFEW’s national board who do not deserve to or indeed have the character to occupy the positions they hold. Belinda being one.

When I first read the Casey Report 3 years ago, I removed the shiver from my spine by thinking it was only a Met issue
By that I mean the management hubris and defensiveness

Why else would they include resignations in their KPIs?

I’m fairly confident that the lack of available and trained resources and adequate equipment would be a greater hindrance to any response.

Another @PFEW_HQ subscription increase. Another missed opportunity to demonstrate real change.
Federation subscriptions will rise by a further £1 per month from January 2027, following the £2 increase introduced just twelve months ago.
The decision passed by 200 votes to 168. Hardly a ringing endorsement.
This is not simply about £1. It is about transparency, trust and the Federation’s repeated promises to put members first.
The published accounts are still not up to date. Given the widely reported concerns about previous spending, financial governance and ongoing fraud investigations, members are entitled to ask where their money is going and why another increase is necessary—particularly so soon after the last one.
If the Federation wants officers to pay more, the very least it can do is show us why.
Publish the financial evidence. Publish the 2024 and 2025 accounts. Explain where the money from the previous increase has gone, how it was allocated and why it has supposedly been insufficient.
Show what has been done to reduce costs and identify savings elsewhere, including in organisational and executive spending. Justify why you want to take more of our hard-earned money at a time when you have rightly acknowledged that officers’ finances are already under pressure.
Real change is not measured by what an organisation says. It is measured by what it does.
You cannot claim to put members first and commit to transparency while keeping them in the dark and reaching deeper into their pockets. That is not real change—it is the same old federation covered in the veil of reform.
