Patrick Stewart, who’s died aged 86 from Alzheimer’s and dementia, will be remembered by most people for his Star Trek and X-Men roles. As Jean-Luc Picard, he described the Marxian socialist future where people are no longer trapped in a capitalist artificial jungle, plagued by shortages of things they need but can’t afford, and obsessed with money and accumulating more wealth than others. Let’s not wait 300 years to progress from our socioeconomic infancy. Make it so.
