Rising up through impact? You're falling back.
Stay low, move forward. That's the entire feel of a downhill lie — and it's the fastest cure for hanging back Michael knows. Find one on the course. Make a few swings. Carry the feeling. #footjoy
The greatest practice tool is already on the course- the downhill lie.
Gravity makes hanging back almost impossible. Stay centered going back, fall forward through impact. Michael transfers downhill feel to a level lie, and hit pure strikes immediately.
Hit it Like Hogan — With This Secret
Open it up. Bring your trail forearm flat to the frame at impact position. Feel how much your body has to rotate to get there. Does rotation = secret? Consistent low point, less curve, more distance.
Hogan's secret — according to Michael Breed — is the trail elbow.
Keep it bent, brush it forward past the trail hip, forearm flat to the strike line at impact. Three consecutive shots on camera. All straight. That's what Hogan was doing that nobody talks about.
Hitting a bad fade on the course? Here's the fix — no range needed.
Drop a spare club on the ground as a reference. Feel the shaft coming from the inside at the delivery position. Ball starts right, draws back to the middle. Michael does it mid-round. You can too.
One position in the downswing predicts everything.
The delivery position - shaft parallel to the ground just before impact. Outside=fade. Inside=draw. Parallel=straight. Michael proves it on camera with spin data.
38° launch vs 28° launch. Same shot. Same distance.
Patrick's pitching was all arms ball launching too high, distance control gone. Ball back, weight forward, body rotates. Launch drops below 30. 3 shots, all within feet of each other. That's the fix.
You don't have great hands. You have a frozen body.
Lock the body on pitch shots and the hands have to do everything — inconsistent launch, inconsistent distance, no control. Let the body rotate just a little and watch what happens. 🏌️
Want to swing like Wyndham Clark? It starts with the follow through.
Right shoulder closer to the target than the left. Chest facing through. Trail elbow bent at impact. Michael shows you how to train that feeling with a basketball and a tennis ball — no club needed.
