When Speaker Madigan faced a 2016 Democratic primary challenge from Jason Gonzales in his 70% Hispanic House district, two other candidates with Hispanic surnames filed to run seemingly out of thin air. Neither actively campaigned. The old-school Irish Catholic pol won with 65%.

I find it interesting that a Black Mayor who loves to let everyone know he has the "Blackest Administration Ever" and who loves to play the race card when it benefits him and allows him to duck accountability, is mighty quiet when he should be speaking out.
When videos and surveillance shows that these business burglaries, violent robberies, downtown shootings, ATM smash and grabs and daylight takeovers of gas station gambling sites are being committed by young black males, @ChicagosMayor is mighty quiet.
When you have a "Mayor" who loves to play the race card when it's convenient, but refuses to hold the same race accountable doesn't bode well with accountability.
@Brandon4Chicago enough with the ducking and making excuses when you should be holding yourself and those you claim "when it's convenient" accountable. #Chicago

Three of the 10 best school districts nationwide are on Long Island, and the region dominated a list of the top 10 in New York State, according to the Niche 2027 Best School Districts rankings.
The Roslyn, Syosset and Jericho school districts are listed as the second, third and seventh best respectively in the United States as part of the annual rankings by Niche, a company that offers reviews and ranks of districts, public and private schools, and colleges.
All three Nassau districts in the national top 10 earned Niche’s top mark — an A+ — for myriad factors, including state test scores, student-to- teacher ratios and how well they prepare students for college.
