The true apolitical stance would be to not allow discrimination under any circumstance & holding one's community to that standard.
Unfortunately, the right is the side that made the existence of LGBTQ+ people political when they tried to delegate what rights they could & could not have. Just as they also politicized the bodily autonomy of women using the crutch of religion.
Essentially, if one allows or stays silent as their community throws derogatory slurs that are founded on racism & other forms of discrimination at others as a way to defend them from criticism, then wowie, that's a political stance and said person was never apolitical.
There is no such thing as an "apolitical" person, just a "time & place" for politics.
People tend to conflate "apolitical" with independent, moderate and centrist.
To be apolitical is to be free of politics period, and politics are baked in every facet of our lives, one way or another, some in small ways and some in big ones. If one has any sort of opinion about any event happening in the word, congrats, they're not apolitical they were just silent.
Spaces can be apolitical, not so much people.
