The New York Times reports that Mary Peltola’s Democratic campaign in Alaska allegedly searched voter rolls for other men named Dan Sullivan and recruited a retired teacher (Daniel J. Sullivan Jr.) as a potential spoiler against Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan. The operation, dubbed the “Ballot Composition Project,” allegedly included secret recruitment trips and an operative using a fake name, though the campaign and DSCC deny involvement. Voters are left asking who ordered the name search, who funded it, and what the campaign actually knew.
